Huh? When I entered my PhD program (to be a Descartes scholar!) this was the dominant interpretation of the cogito--doubting my existence requires me exist to do the doubting, therefore I exist. I doubt the scholarship changed that much 20 years later!

Of course not. You just write a logical axiom and ask if there are any questions. If the answer is no, then you dismiss class. That's how it's done.
It boggles my mind too. I keep seeing people reference the clip of John McCain calling Barack Obama a "good man" in a town hall without realizing that this was an extreme outlier moment for a GOP that was obsessed with the Clinton body Count, birtherism, and overt racism.

I understand the desire for comeuppance, but realizing that real people would be hurt by this should override that initial desire. Just don't treat people like collateral damage to get back at someone else!
