Really proud of my friend @TonyCaridi (That's him on the left in the pictures below if you weren't sure.)
Tony is spending the week reading his amazing new book to kids in classrooms throughout WV.
Tony's a terrific broadcaster, role model, dad, and author as well. Good goin, Pal!
It's story time! 📖 @TonyCaridi and Marty are making their way across the state this week to read "Watch Where You Put Your Feet Down" with students!

Fifty years ago this week: Some Buffalo high school kids cooked up an impossibly longshot plan to ask Gregg Allman to appear at a school assembly. And he did it. My column:
One of beautiful, impossible tales of rock music: 50 years ago, students at Canisius High in Buffalo trudge toward typical school assembly. Instead, on stage, in full glory? Gregg Allman of @allmanbrothers. In my column today, student ringleader remembers: centralcurrent.org/sean-kirs…

I don’t want to comment on the two preseason games because I don’t want to form an opinion on a team that’s 0-0.
But, in the little time I watched them, here’s what I’ve liked.
- Sadiq is looking like a true breakout star in the ACC. He put up 17 against UConn on solid splits. The fact he came back tells us this program means something to him.
- Three point shooting should drastically improve this season. Something we’ve lacked for years. Morano especially, he has looked very promising.
- Gerry Mac is our coach. That enough is something to look forward to.
- We have a true Center. Luke Wilson is the reigning Sun- Belt DPOY with a true all-around paint presence.
- Our bench is more than capable of scoring. Dating back to the Boeheim days, it’s really felt like a 6 man rotation. This year we have guys capable of giving meaningful minutes.
- This could just be me, but I feel that Doty should and will have the ball in his hands during pivotal shots and possessions.
Underwhelming games have been the Orange standard, so it’s easy to see the negatives in the two preseason games. But there is certainly a lot more to look forward to.
Win or lose, the fans aren’t going anywhere. We want and expect good results. I hope GMac can be the guy. But with the season right around the corner, we’re all eager for Cuse to restore our faith in the program.
The Big 12 said officials incorrectly ended Saturday night's game between BYU and Notre Dame and that the Irish should have had another second on the clock to run a final play. spr.ly/6012BHu8VK

Nah man these refs gotta be FIRED
Not only did they NOT call BYU for a CLEAR pass interference, but Notre Dame should’ve had time for 1 MORE PLAY
THIS IS INSANE

Republican Rep. Andy Harris incorrectly told a reporter they were breaking the law as the reporter and others recorded an exchange with him last night.
Harris had just wrapped up a debate with Democratic challenger Dan Schwartz.

Syracuse gives up a TD before half aided in large part on Syracuse penalties. Went from about to score to really put the game away to making it just a two score game at the break.

If you ever think NFL refs are clueless and blind, just sit back and watch an ACC game sometime.

"We went up to Santa Fe to have some fun and this night we closed down this bar and it was like three in the morning, and nobody was on the street but us.
No cars, no nobody and there was this guy. I don’t think he was drunk, but he was impaired in some way that had him standing on the street alone, with his hat on the ground, singing:
"Mr. Bojangles."
There was no chance of anyone coming by. Me and Jerry Jeff heard the music and we went to go find it, 'cause we could tell it was his song and we found him.
Jerry Jeff Walker and I stood there and watched this guy sing, "Mr. Bojangles" in front of a closed-down old blues bar, and I could feel us both getting choked up.
And I was asking myself:
"Should I tell this guy that he’s playing Jerry Jeff’s song, and that Jerry Jeff is standing right here?"
But, no, I figured that if Jerry Jeff wanted to let this guy know who he was, he’d tell him.
Jerry Jeff chose not to.
When the song was over, Jerry Jeff said,
"That sounded great," and then he put a fuckload of cash—every bit of cash he had on him—into that guy’s hat.
And then we walked off to the hotel, and I just couldn’t leave the moment alone.
"Maybe the highlight of my life," I said.
"Boring life so far, kid."

Not to add to the discourse, but…
It’s ‘toe the line,’ not ‘tow the line.’
It’s ‘free rein,’ and not ‘free reign.’
It’s ‘eke out,’ not ‘eek out.’
It’s ‘sleight of hand,’ not ‘slight of hand.’
It's ‘Anchors aweigh,’ and not ‘Anchor's away!’
