After a decade defined by Trudeau-Guilbeault progressivism on the Left and the Freedom Convoy on the Right, the Carney government's governing priorities and the election of the Doerkson-led Conservatives in BC mark the reassertion of the median voter.

Pretty hard to find a better example of a tariff that is causing more harm to US industry (and consumers) for less strategic or economic gain than the steep tariff on Canadian aluminum

I want more premiers who are just some decent accountants named Dave and Kathy. We don't even need to know their last names, really.

This obsession with the details of what a candidate may or may not have said is one reason why parties are finding it so difficult to attract candidates. The perfect candidate will have nothing on the record concerning their views on various religious groups., abortion, LBGTQ+, indigenous relations, etc.
Especially pathetic since in today’s government, so-called backbenchers have basically no influence whatsoever. Prime Minister‘s and Premiers rule like modern monarchs.

WTF, $3000 Samsung TV has an always-on mic, automatic content recognition, geo tracking, network mapping, and ships your data to Samsung + 400 partners.
Bro Rooted a brand-new 2025 Samsung TV after noticing absurdly targeted ads.
Firmware was locked down, so zero-days it was.
Got a root shell.
then found: always-on voice service, ACR, geo, full telemetry pipeline, and four separate DRM systems.
This isn’t a bug, It’s the product bro.

My naive optimism: the stupidity of this administration might taint tariffs for a generation. That could make the whole episode net positive
Just such a fun chart here from @greg_ip. If only we could tease out some meaning. Ah, well, nevertheless. 🤣

I asked @nenshi how he can champion pipelines when federal NDP Leader @avilewis is against new ones.
Nenshi: "I don't want to be unkind, but the federal NDP is really not relevant in Alberta. Nobody talks about them, nobody worries about them."

Some claim men are dropping out of the workforce because there aren't "manly" jobs left in manufacturing and construction, but there are 800,000 such jobs standing open and men aren't applying for them.

Hilarious. A 75 per cent defeat is actually a victory.
Before the votes are tallied, I wanted to be clear about something that they're going to try and take from us.
The definition of victory.
If as much as 25% elect for option 2 on the only question that matters... this is not a win for "remain."
It's a victory for independence.
1/4 of the province (of which had doubled in size since this bs immigration scheme) is on board with cutting ties.
That's not 2 crazy dudes in Didsbury. That's every 4th person.
Maybe we won't get to further the process... but we will get to make our point clear: a huge chunk of us are so dissatisfied with the present status quo that we want to walk away from it all.
From this day forth, politicians will see that number on the page and know that it they don't find a way to bring those people into the discussion, they've lost them.
Don't let them redefine victory and marginalize our struggles.
But of course, I want option 2 to pass.
