This. Same with Issue 1 a few years back. I blame Frank LaRose who approved wording that was clearly intentionally misleading. Not just "oops, I could see how..." People think they voted for X but they actually voted for Y.

This dude on CNN keeps saying "your eyes don't lie" but they use these circles (2d, area focused) to represent a 1-dimensional value. I want to mail him a copy of The Visual Display of Quantitative Information. Your eyes *do* lie and that is specifically an example of how.

TIL LLVM-based compilers support -Rpass-missed=.* so you can see what optimizations were missed. -Rpass-analysis=.* gives the reasoning behind it.

I'm working on a product and building the components separately. So far, auth is the hardest part by a long shot. It's been maybe 3x harder than the product itself?

PNG has this clever way of marking chunks so a tool might not understand the chunk but does understand it should be kept after an edit. It is a brilliant, small detail that enables a lot of power. Unfortunately, pretty much every tool just ignores it. :'(

What are you favorite cheap & cheerful bits of programming? I think for me it is loops that go to zero. Maybe also 'auto' typing.

Purely coincidence with your recent work but... Often, when I have to deal with multiline text and I can't use vim motions I have a little *hrmph* moment of frustration. I've considered intercepting Win32 window creation to add it. But so many apps today don't use Win32 anyway.

You know how movie makers story board--so they can change it while it is cheap? In AI coding, part of that goes away. But part of it is more important now. It is easier to make changes. But pure vibe coding is ~directionless. Think AI image "slop" but in architecture, too.

And forcing me to finally address some of my weak points. If I can't teach it, I don't know it deeply enough.

Mountain of Woe?? Yeah right! This place is paydirt. Farm this specific rock, charm weapons that sell for a ton...

Chrono Trigger on PC only has achievements for seeing the different endings. *THIS* should be an achievement. Spekkio has different forms depending on your level. And it is difficult to get to him in the level 1-9 form.

W3C hosts a yearly event called TPAC. I have to intentionally not say or type "Tupac".

This article..."Caching an immediate-mode UI"... Brother, that's retained-mode.

When tech companies measure their uptime, I feel like it would be fair to not include when someone else messes up their BGP settings. However, the end user doesn't care what a BGP is. To them, it is down. From that perspective, I feel like it should be included.

Today's Fireship video is about stereotypes of today's programmers. One of them is the old, jaded programmer. "He is in his mid-30s." Ouch. youtube.com/watch?v=zv6B6PQO…

Admittedly, I should have worded this better. :) you goofballs "...factoring [out the] primes..." Anyway, thank you to people who pointed out it was ECC instead of RSA (so non-primes are allowed).

(Not sure if you meant strictly "command" or like vim motions, too. Sorry if you were trying to be clear and I was too broad.)

About eMudhra's private key being just 4... I need to revisit how this works. I thought the numbers had to be prime. The point is factoring primes is hard, right?
