My six year old says β€œIt’s a question that’s more like a story” and that perfectly sums up my interactions with older men buying trucks at work.

β€œWe waste enormous amounts of money on stupid bullshit so you shouldn’t be upset we continue to do so.”
I don’t get why anyone wouldn’t support the government of Canada investing in @cohere They religiously give billions, with no equity in exchange, to companies like Honda, VW, Stellantis, Umicore, and BHP. The government didn’t lead the round, they participated, and I hope to see billions more invested this way every year. Beats using our $ for grants, tax credits, and loans with favorable terms to large and foreign owned corporations.

Someone posted β€œ β€˜International law’ is how we explain the US Navy to children and invalids” last week and it’s become a load bearing phrase for me

Canada spending billions propping up a joke of an AI company is so on brand. Zero surprise that I can run a better model on a budget 16gb card in my 5 year old PC than this trash.
Cohere is a typical Canadian business success story, which is being really good at getting government funding

Going to great lengths to look β€œyouthful” as you age is the epitome of a devils bargain. It works until it doesn’t and then you pay the price all at once, a jarring collapse.
