It has come to the notice of the Ministry that certain individuals on social media platforms are making posts suggesting that they are advising MEA on policy related matters including on trade, migration and other issues. Further, these handles are also offering paid advice/sessions on how to work with MEA. These individuals have no connection to the Ministry and the Ministry urges all to be careful against such fraudulent posts on social media platforms. @MEAIndia @PIBFactCheck @MIB_India

A strong start to the Human Resource Mobility Forum 2026, with Hon’ble External Affairs Minister @drsjaishankar inspiring participants to do more to advance international mobility and reaffirming India’s commitment to forging more mobility and skills partnerships. As countries navigate demographic transitions and evolving skill needs, these partnerships are vital to connecting talent with opportunity, addressing workforce gaps, and advancing shared prosperity. This timely Forum explores practical pathways to strengthen skills partnerships, promote ethical recruitment, and expand safe, orderly and regular mobility channels. The country sessions will give Indian industry, skilling institutions and recruitment agencies a valuable opportunity to hear firsthand from five of India’s key partner countries about their workforce needs, skill expectations and scale of opportunities.

Pleased to address the inaugural session of the Human Resource Mobility Forum. In an increasingly connected world, trusted mobility pathways will play a key role in sustaining growth, fostering innovation, and maintaining global productivity. Highlighted : ➡️ 🇮🇳’s vision for mobility partnerships based on mutual benefit, shared responsibility, and long-term sustainability. ➡️ Our commitment to safe, orderly and legal migration reflected in our 28 Migration and Mobility partnership agreements. ➡️ Advances in techology, automation and green economy, as well as changes in demography, that are transforming global labour markets. These require greater cooperation between governments, industry, educational institutions, and international organisations. ➡️ Our efforts to ensure timely assistance to our nationals overseas through the ICWF, responsive consular services, MADAD, eMigrate 2.0 and other portals. Confident that the Forum will generate valuable insights, strengthen partnerships, and contribute meaningfully to our collective efforts in shaping the future of global talent mobility.

Throughout this period we have maintained close contact with the relevant countries. Prime Minister @narendramodi himself has spoken to the President of UAE, the Amir of Qatar, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, the Crown Prince of Kuwait, the King of Bahrain, the Sultan of Oman, the King of Jordan and the Prime Minister of Israel In each case, we received assurances that the well-being of the Indian community would be a priority for the host governments. I have similarly been in close touch with my counterparts in these countries. So far as the United States is concerned, we have maintained regular contact through diplomatic channels While attempts have been made, contacts with Iran at the leadership level are obviously difficult at this time. I have, however, spoken to Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi on 28 February and 5 March 2026. We will continue these high-level conversations in the coming days -Union Minister @DrSJaishankar in Rajya Sabha

The House will also be interested in the issue of an Iranian vessel currently docked in Kochi. The Iranian side had requested permission on 28 February for three ships in the region to dock at our ports. This was accorded on 1 March. The IRIS Lawan docked in Kochi on 4 March. The crew is currently in Indian naval facilities. We believe that this was the right thing to do, and the Iranian Foreign Minister has expressed his country’s thanks for this humane gesture -Union Minister @DrSJaishankar in Rajya Sabha
