“Observation III. A distinction is made between faith considered with respect to justification itself, and then it is the sole instrument apprehending the merit of Christ, and alone justifies; and considered in the person of the justified, or after justification, and in this way it is never alone, that is, it is always accompanied by the other virtues, indeed it is the root and parent of them all.”

We’ve been Confessional Lutheran for roughly seven years now,
and we now have a pastor who invited the congregation to “trick-or-treat” at his house today & told the kids they’d get extra candy if they said, “Happy Reformation Day.” 💯😎🛡️🔨

The greatest legacy of the Reformation is not Luther, Calvin, or any reformer. It is the recovery of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Post tenebras lux.
Happy Reformation Day!
