Ppl don't really get how relevant transactional privacy is to them.
The usual examples (political donations) seem a bit unusual.
Let's have some concrete examples everyone can understand, why YOU, personally, will want sth like TornadoCash to anonymise ALL your transactions.

Ok US Gov.
What crypto privacy tool can we use?
Cause I’m beginning to think you don’t want us to have any digital privacy at all.
This most recent attack on crypto by the US government highlights the urgency that we face as a movement to make decentralized finance mainstream as soon as possible. Absolute control and censorship are what we are fighting against, and is the purpose of crypto’s existence.
Govs and institutions have realised that blockchain is a tool they can use for mass financial surveillance, the main fight now is to secure individual privacy. Take a stand. Keep your funds private. Build like you’ve never built before.

It was Tornado today.
Do you think they’ll stop there?
Tomorrow it’ll be Uniswap.
Then Ethereum.
If software isn’t safe then speech isn’t.
Where will you run?
Forget the money, this was always a revolution.
The money is just how we fund it.

To summarize
the US is willing to use its highest level of economic sanctions usually reserved for foreign powers and extremely dangerous people against a privacy product in crypto

The U.S. sanctioning of @TornadoCash privacy is a direct attack on blockchain adoption.
Mainstream adoption and integration of DeFi into commerce won't / can't happen without privacy.
It wouldn't be acceptable for your bank statements to be force published on your social media.
This is a very sad day for privacy on and around Ethereum. I hope the community will find ways to respond to this attempted to criminalize users that are seeking privacy. @TornadoCash

Going thru the list of sanctioned addys (home.treasury.gov/policy-iss…)
Includes TC Donate address, Proxy address, Gitcoin grants address (!), TC Router, the USDC 100 pool, 100 DAI pool, 10 ETH pool, 100 ETH pool, 1,000 DAI pool -- appears to be every TC-related wallet they could find

To succeed would mean mass adoption and a complete replacement of the current financial system. For this goal to be viable, #cryptocurrency needs to be free from censorship and control. To achieve this, privacy is essential.
The future of crypto is #interchain, so Void Protocol is bringing that privacy to @osmosis and the #CosmosEcosystem. Join us and help #spreadtheprivacy
