9-5 jobs are comfort pay. They give you just enough money to make it hard to leave. Then you buy a car, buy a house, and have kids. Then it's just too much risk to quit the job. Next thing you know, you blink, and you're 50+.

Levantarse cansado, trabajar todo el día, perder tiempo en transporte, llegar sin energía para nada y aun así tener que hacerlo otra vez mañana. No sé en qué momento esto se volvió normal.

A reminder: Walmart's $1 trillion valuation is the product of decades of anticompetitive behavior — enabled by antitrust non-enforcement. Newly released FTC docs show, for example, that It conspires with suppliers to force other grocers to raise their prices above Walmart. 1/

The biggest myth about taxpayer-funded stadiums is that they drive "economic development." The research is very clear: they don't. If you think billionaires deserve welfare, make the argument. But your reasoning cannot be "it helps the little guy," because that's not true.
"If we stop funding all sports stadiums tomorrow, then the world wouldn't change hardly at all. Basically, just these wealthy owners would say, 'OK, I guess I gotta fund it myself.'" reason.com/2026/01/30/there-…

My neighbor works 65 hours a week. He is exhausted. He works 25 hours at a grocery store. He works 20 hours at a warehouse. He works 20 hours at a fast-food joint. He has zero health insurance. Zero 401k. Zero paid sick leave. Why? Because every single employer caps him at "part-time" hours specifically to avoid legally having to provide benefits. He works harder than anyone I know, but on paper, he doesn't "work enough" to deserve a doctor.

The majority of Walmart workers are paid less than a living wage, and are forced to rely on social safety nets to afford basic necessities. Walmart’s value and profits are subsidized by taxpayers. And some people still think immigrants are the problem.

When you educate an entire generation to believe that "anything is possible with hard work", and then build an economic system that is rigged against most hard-working people ever achieving any notable wealth or 'success', how can widespread anxiety not be an inevitable result?

If every American had a living wage, an affordable home, and guaranteed healthcare in a stable economy, we wouldn’t have to debate government funding for basic services.

We're all vulnerable to disability. It doesn't matter how many vitamins you take, if you eat a raw diet, if you add ginger to everything, or whatever wellness grift you try, disability will happen by either accident, illness, or age. Everyone benefits from disability justice.

It’s insane to think about the fact that banks made $89 billion in overdraft fees this past year. That’s $89 billion they took from people who literally have no money.

People sneer at welfare spending, but ignore a basic fact: most of that money is spent immediately in the real economy - on food, rent, energy, transport. It doesn’t vanish. It circulates through shops, bills, and jobs.

i’ve been learning how much people are getting paid at companies from major corporations to small startups and realizing that people are getting paid slave wages. don’t be fooled by the fancy titles and linkedin headshots. wages do not live up to the cost of living anymore.

All this talk about “reclassifying” what counts as a profession is a distraction from the real trend..women-dominated fields like nursing, teaching, social work, counseling, PA programs, physical therapy, are losing funding, while male-dominated sectors keep the capital flowing. If you want to save enough money to buy a house, all you have to do is, stop drinking coffee, delete your Netflix, get 3 full time jobs, work 26 hours a day 8 days a week, live in a tent, eat 1 meal a day, never go on holiday, have a Nokia 3310 with a sim only and make your life as miserable as possible. Easy.

There's no good reason we shouldn't tax wealth. "Oh but the rich people will all leave" GOOD Let them go. They're avoiding tax anyway. They shouldn't be able to make money off us all without paying a fair amount – at Stockport, England

It never ceases to amaze me how billionaires who already have enough money to last 1,000 lifetimes still want more money and have no desire to help the poor, the disabled or the elderly.
