@QMiP really diverse range of talks on the first day and great keynote speakers. (Jonathan Smith sat in front of me in the hall but resisted being another researcher telling him how instrumental the Smith, Flowers &Larkin book had been when I did my PhD!) #QMiP2025

I’ll be presenting two studies at the @QMiP Conference 2025, both examining how digitalisation policies advance neoliberal agendas and deepen structural inequalities; one via Critical Discourse Analysis, the other via constructionist Thematic Analysis.

In our study(Rousaki, @Efpraxia_Z ,Sbaffi, @kateameliah & Black) we examined the impact of digitalisation on older unpaid carers. Via focus groups w 48 carers, we analysed how digitalisation, shaped by neoliberal ideologies, affects carers’ experiences. jmir.org/2024/1/e60056/

I fundamentally disagree with just about every part of this thread. There is more than one way to do good science. There is more to doing good science than replicability. And (more importantly) calling to the community to "drive out" researchers is, in my opinion, abhorrent.
It is extremely sad to see some qualitative resesrchers take the epistemologicl view that truth is crested, and qualitative resesrch is in principle not replicable. These voices should be severely criticized within the qualitative research community, and preferably driven out.
