Compassionate leaders don’t have all the answers and don’t simply tell people what to do, instead they engage with the people they work with to find shared solutions to problems. Read our explainer to find out more about leading with #compassion: kingsfund.org.uk/publication…

The Future of jobs report, published by the World Economic Forum, lays out the ten most important skills for work right now:
1. Analytical thinking
2. Creative thinking
3. Resilience, flexibility, and agility
4. Motivation and self-awareness
5. Curiosity and lifelong learning
6. Technological literacy
7. Dependability and attention to detail
8. Empathy and active listening
9. Leadership and social influence
10. Quality control
The skill that's risen the most since the previous survey in 2020 is creative thinking. Creativity is also the skill that's expected to increase in importance the most in future, as jobs become more automated:

After 36yrs in the NHS starting as a v naive student nurse & finishing with @ECISTNetwork, someone asked me what I’d learnt. If stuff doesn’t make sense to most of those doing the work it probably doesn’t make sense. Keep things simple. Look after your people.
Special day today as we say goodbye to the boss as he retires from the NHS after 36 yrs.
Thanks for everything you've done @PeteGordon68, and the difference you've made to so many people.

Circle of control: You can’t control everything. Be wise in how you spend your efforts & energy
Love this musical analogy regarding teams and leadership. @HelenBevan @MLMCommHealth I need to emulate one of the Strauss family and get us all beautifully waltzing together
Leading a team is much like conducting an orchestra. Its about building team cohesion based on a collective vision & shared goals & ensuring each person is valued for the unique contribution they make.
