This is exactly the kind of government the PPC wants to be. Limit overreach, no corporate welfare. They either succeed or they suck. No buddies, no favourites, no picking the winners. Get good or get lost.
Governor DeSantis says young people chose socialism because the Republican alternative is crony corporatism which resembles the Soviet politburo funneling power and benefits to a handful of elites.
“Is just screaming socialism going to work? Obviously, it didn't work in this election. And why?
I think a big part of that is, what they're comparing is not free enterprise to socialism. What they're comparing is how government gets involved in business, and you have crony capitalism. So the best kind of indirect supporters of socialism are some of these corporatist Republicans who propagate these crony policies.
Because the average person seeing that would say, wait a minute, you're trying to bend the government to funnel benefits to this corporation or that industry or this. What about having a competitive market? If you have a competitive market and you truly have free enterprise, that's going to benefit small businesses. It's going to benefit individuals.
You are going to see the standard of living rise. The problem is these young people really aren't seeing that. They're seeing just a handful of companies that have an outsized influence on our economy and on our society.
And they see government policy, for example. The Republicans in Washington wanted to do a 10-year effective amnesty for big tech where states and locals wouldn't be able to provide any type of regulatory oversight over artificial intelligence. And I'm thinking to myself, what other industry gets this? These hyperscale data centers that have become very controversial, you go to places like rural Texas, these are conservative people that are just beside themselves because these things are getting, in some of these instances, they're getting no property tax.
People say they give money. Well, not if you give them tax breaks. So they're getting subsidies in some parts of the country.
Now I think it's gotten so unpopular that they know they have to pay tax and everything. But a year or two ago, it's a much different thing. So the way you're going to end up having socialism is if you don't have a clear contrast between freedom and socialism.
If it's cronyism versus socialism, there's going to be enough people who are going to choose socialism because on the surface, it seems like, well, it's government stepping in on behalf of people. Now we know a socialist society is going to be a highly cronyist society as well. Just look at how the Castro family lived in Cuba for all these decades while their people suffered.
Look at how the Soviet Politburo lived back in the day or how the Chinese communists lived. It's human nature kind of at its worst. It's a different veneer, but ultimately, it's funneling power and benefits to a handful of an elite.”
The system works.

This is the man that has the best shot at saving the West right now.
🚨 WOW. Gov. Ron DeSantis is GOING OFF right now post-blue tsunami:
"I see the ad, 'so and so voted against releasing the Epstein Files.' I'm like, that's a bad vote. We ran as Republicans saying we need to do that. And you have people in Congress voting against release when the Attorney General said she had all the all this horrific stuff on her desk and that people are gonna be held accountable?!"
"It's untenable when you have people going in trading stocks! I've never traded stocks since I've been in elected office. How do you have no investment acumen, and then all of a sudden get elected to Congress, and then you're outperforming Warren Buffett?"
"I saw how they were running and it was a rejection of what was going on in DC."
Some left-wingers finally getting it, beautiful to see. It's the same when every country sends their people. Not just America. That's why we must rely only on ourselves and make life more affordable so we can have our own families and build our own nation.
Replying to @gator_gum
When America sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with them.. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.
And to be clear, Anakin had no problem killing the children of the oppressors. That's what's coming in a few generations.
Gen Z gets Anakin. Boomers still don’t.
He wants power, love, freedom, and a life that matters.
His elders would like him to be patient.
Anakin Skywalker has rescued the Chancellor, fought a galactic war, and lost a hand on the job. Unfortunately, management has concerns about his attitude.
The Jedi Council acknowledges his extraordinary potential.
Whether he should be allowed to do anything with it without supervision remains under review.
You can see why the Anakin memes have found an audience.
The third installment of the prequels has been going viral on X with Gen Z asking, “Wasn’t Anakin… the good guy?”
But his appeal goes deeper than handsome-man-with-a-lightsaber edits.
Anakin wants a consequential life.
He wants mastery, adventure, recognition, and love.
He wants independence and his mentors’ approval.
He wants to protect Padmé and remain a Jedi.
He wants responsibility before he fully understands what it costs.
That conflict gives him an emotional life richer than the standard diagnosis of an entitled young man who needs to calm down.
