Yusuke Yamamoto was asked to return as Tsurugi/Sasword in Kabuto 20th, but he declined specifically because he didn't want to change his character's fate in the original series.

They don't look completely identical like people insist they are but it would be extremely disingenuous to imply that they aren't at all going for a similar style

Notice how in order to defend the dogshit localization of the game, they need to shit on the original characters and dialogues.
Are you even a fan of Helios if THIS is how you talk about the original version?
"More character" so you're saying she was boring originally?

>Fridging isn't about love interests
Yes, it is. Literally where that stupid term is derived from.
>it's about killing off or using violence against women as props for a man's story.
And that doesn't include women who turn into villains capable of terrible actions.
>X3 removes Jean's agency from her sacrifice
She's the one who lets Wolverine kill her.
>and makes her death entirely about Logan
It's not about Logan. It's about them both.
>which is why it's considered fridging
It is not fridging. Jean was a villain and she was killed because to earn her redemption, not just make the man sad.

this is the real fridging btw
she is larping
fridging is a storytelling trope where a supporting character most often a female love interest is killed/traumatized solely to serve as a plot device and emotional catalyst for the mc

Fridging is when a love interest is killed by a villain or other causes. When love interest becomes mutant Hitler that disintegrates people for the heck of it and the hero is left with no choice but to kill her, it's not fridging.
Professor X is who actually got fridged in that movie. Jean Grey dying in Logan's arms was a redemption arc for her after all the evil she had done since she let Logan kill her.
Why are MCU fans so bad at understanding basics of storytelling?
