BREAKING 🚨: Aragorn to Be Recast for “The Hunt for Gollum” as Auditions Begin in London and New Zealand 🎥
During The One Ring Net (@theoneringnet) TORN Tuesday chat on January 6, it was revealed that Aragorn is being recast for “The Hunt for Gollum,” with auditions currently underway.
“The conversations I had over the weekend were with real people—not just anonymous names on the internet… Based on those conversations, auditions for Aragorn are taking place this week in London. Aragorn is being recast, with auditions happening both in London and New Zealand.”
The interview also noted that casting is not limited to established names.
“…What we’re hearing in London is that they’re also looking for unknown actors.”
According to people close to the casting process, fan-favorite picks may not align with the creative direction.
“I’ve been told by people close to casting that Ben Barnes and Sebastian Stan are considered too old for the vision of Aragorn. The film reportedly takes place in the 20 years prior to ‘The Fellowship of the Ring,’ acting as a bridge between ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings.’”
With auditions reportedly open to newcomers and the story set in the years before “The Fellowship of the Ring,” this recasting marks a significant moment for the next Middle-earth film.

On 2 September 1973 J.R.R. Tolkien died aged 81. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings is the best-selling book of the 20th Century, and is joined by seminal works The Hobbit and The Silmarillion.
He may have died 52 years ago but his influence and legacy lives on in us all. Namárië.

We have lost the greatest mind in the dynamic world of #Tolkien Scholarship. Like his Father he was an intellectual giant who poured his entire life into those monumental works.
Never was the adage more true: He was a GENTLEMAN and a SCHOLAR.
A memory.

Today, we dive into Morgoth's fortresses of Utumno and Angband! Not only do we cover the history of both, but we also speculate on where the ruins of Utumno may have been!

PRAYERS TO OUR BRAVE NAVAJO SCOUTS WHO ARE ON THEIR WAY TO CALIFORNIA TO FIGHT THE WILDFIRES
As more people evacuate the Los Angeles area from the blazing wildfires, our Navajo Scouts are answering the call to help fight and protect the millions of people in LA County who are fleeing their homes.
I ask that we, as a united Navajo people, keep our Navajo Scouts, a Type 2 IA team, in our thoughts and prayers. Let us send them our heartfelt wishes for protection, so that they may return home safely after aiding our relatives in Southern California during this challenging time.
According to reports from California Fire, there are currently five active fires: the Palisades Fire, the Eaton Fire, the Hurst Fire, the Lidia Fire, and the Sunset Fire. The Palisades Fire has already burned over 17,234 acres, while the Eaton Fire has charred approximately 10,600 acres. Both of these fires ignited on January 7 and have forced massive evacuations, destroying homes and property, and tragically resulting in five lives lost.
The cause of these wildfires has been undetermined as of this social media post. However, extreme fire behavior has been attributed to the Santa Ana winds combined with the dry conditions that have been exacerbated by climate change.
Our Navajo Scouts, a dedicated team of 23 members, including a courageous female wildland firefighter, are highly trained and available to combat fires like these for ten months out of the year. They represent various communities across the Navajo Nation, united in their mission to help those in need.
Let us continue to pray for our Navajo Scouts and for the safety of everyone affected by these wildfires in the Los Angeles area.

Will Rogers Estate and Moonshadows are gone. This is disastrous beyond. And obviously so much more. How much heartache can we take? My nostalgic heart is broken.

Since LA is on fire and part of the south is frozen, I think it’s a good time to remind everyone or tell for the first time that ChatGPT and other forms for AI are contributing to the rapid warming of our planet.

Sorry for tweeting so much, but Twitter throttles out-bound links, so I'm trying this again.

Flow is available now on digital in the US! But after the Golden Globes win there will be many more theatres showing it now and I'd very highly recommend watching it on the big screen to get the full, immersive experience.

It's now playing in a theater near you and available on digital. 🐈⬛
