You cannot fight a flatline with brute force. Quill shielded the last functional seeker bot behind his cloak and braced against the stone. Dead Tone lingered, watching, a living reminder of what happens when the hum ceases. The journey down just changed completely.

The vacuum pulled directly on Quill’s visor. The glowing waveform across his eyes started to stutter, breaking apart into loose pixels. For the first time since landing on the frozen planet, the world went quiet. The dread of total un-attunement.

Quill raised his tuning fork, striking it against the stone to force an overtone. A violent sine wave erupted—and collided with Dead Tone’s field. It didn’t shatter him. The waveform was simply devoured, flattened on contact like ripples hitting a dead wall.

As Dead Tone stepped forward, the nearest drones began to drop. Their cyan monitors died, battery icons turning pitch black as their charge vanished into the void. Dead Tone doesn’t kill—he unstrenches the attunement. He takes away the sound.

He didn’t emerge from the shadows; the shadows formed around him. Dead Tone. An entity of fractured obsidian and disintegrating pixels, crowned with a broken halo. Where there should be vibration, there was only 0 Hz. An anti-frequency given form.

The 48 Hz hum had led Quill deep into the bedrock, flanked by his newly awakened SEEKER NET swarm. But as they entered the lowest chasm, the chorus abruptly dropped an octave... then died. The screens flickered. The acoustic waveform flatlined into absolute zero. True silence.
