FIRST Racism experience in 🇯🇵Japan ever... and we speak Japanese. It was a major Izakaya chain in Shinjuku Plenty of foreigners there too and not a full restaurant Basically the Izakaya closes at 12am, I have been there about 5 times A group of us 2x Asians and 2x Latinas are celebrating . We order well over 10,000 yen of food Suddenly at 9:30pm a waiter says it's LAST order, do you want you free dessert? We are thinking "wtf" its only 930pm who closes at 10pm? So we say no thanks and go to settle the bill Meanwhile we notice all the Japanese only groups are still all sitting in their booths with tons of drinks THEN the worst part ever happens that was blatant anti foreigner hate WE leave but at the same time a group of about 10 all Japanese patrons goes and enters the izakaya which has a sliding door We investigate and to our surprise THEY LET THEM all in and didnt say it was last order... To add how obvious this was the same waitor noticed us thinking this and quickly ran to the sliding door, preventing us from going in while passive aggrisvely (tataeme) saying arigoutou gozaimasu, not letting us peak in to ask why these patrons were let into the izakaya In al my years in Japan I've never been treated so poorly . So yes it was NOT last order , they just made us last order like an angry Casino Pit Boss after you won to omany hands of blackjack
