Time is not on our side in Sudan. Escalating drone warfare, the growing risk of famine and the devastating toll on civilians underline the urgency of action. The UK welcomes growing Quad-Quintet coordination and stands ready to support. Thank you to 🇨🇭🇺🇳 for convening.

Appalled by reports of at least 31 civilians killed in a drone strike in Sudan's Blue Nile State. At UNGA, we highlighted the devastating impact of drone warfare on civilians. I reiterate our call: civilians must be protected and international humanitarian law upheld.

I am deeply alarmed by the immediate and escalating risk of new atrocities in Sudan.
We have pushed the UN Security Council to agree unanimously that the RSF assault on El Obeid must stop, that civilians must be protected, and that there will be no impunity for the perpetrators of war crimes.
I’ve met survivors of previous atrocities, now camped at the Sudan border. We cannot let this happen again.

Reports of an imminent major offensive on El Obeid Sudan are incredibly alarming. The RSF must pull back immediately. All parties must urgently de-escalate, allow civilians to leave safely, and let aid in. Too many lives have been lost in Sudan. This offensive must stop now
A significant step forwards…
Together with our allies, the UK is backing preparations for an inclusive, civilian-led dialogue to chart a path to peace in Sudan.
We welcome the progress made in Addis Ababa.

Powerful words from my colleague Jocelyn @NatiqBritanee . Yesterday in Berlin wasn’t the day that Sudan’s tragic war ended, but it was progress - and every step counts.
