Not going to lie- recent rumours about @SweeneyandTodds have had quite an impact. Every day, we are surprised by how many people believe we have closed or are closing. Normally, weekly & Xmas bookings have been snapped up- but not this year. Please support your local businesses🫶

I have officially resigned from the Green Party and will currently sit as an independent Cllr
A statement to the people of Waterloo
Today I have made the incredibly difficult decision to resign from the Green Party. As things stand, I will now sit as an Independent councillor for Waterloo.
I'm 23. I grew up here, walked these streets as a little boy and couldn't be prouder to now represent the community I call home. I didn't get into politics for a career or a party badge. I got into it to help people and make my community better.
At Green Party Conference, a motion was passed declaring Zionism a form of racism and committing the party to oppose it.
I had serious concerns about what this could mean for Jewish members. Being Jewish does not make someone a Zionist. Jewish people hold many different views on Israel and Zionism.
An amendment was put forward saying members should not be pressured or disciplined simply because they attend or are connected to Jewish institutions such as synagogues or community centres. It also sought to ensure Jewish members weren't punished for views that wouldn't see non-Jewish members punished.
I voted for it. It was rejected. I then voted against the final motion.
I saw Jewish members in tears afterwards. I won't forget that.
I came back to Waterloo knowing I couldn't look residents in the face and defend something I believe is wrong.
I will always stand up for Palestinian freedom and speak out against the actions of the Israeli Government. But I can do that while standing with our Jewish community against antisemitism. We must be able to do both.
I fear the Green Party is heading to a very dark place. I cannot follow it there.
If that means my political career ends at 23, so be it.
I'm not leaving Waterloo. I'll still be here, taking up your casework, fighting your corner and doing everything I can for the community I love.
Yeah we should let Man City field 20 players in their team as long as they keep investing in the local economy. – at Tidmarsh, England
The UAE owners have invested billions into Manchester and have helped transform the local economy, creating thousands of jobs and opportunities for people.
The Etihad Campus alone has supported around 14,000 jobs, with the latest £300m+ development expected to create another 2,600 jobs.
So if the Premier League thinks it can push Manchester City into a situation where the owners pull back their investment, a lot of people are going to feel it.
Workers will lose jobs. Businesses will lose customers. The local economy will lose billions in investment.
This isn't just about football anymore.
Keep playing with 115 if you want.
Just remember that there are real people and real jobs behind that investment.

This is a major step forward.
The scrapping of the outdated “Aim to Permit” rule will give councils power to say NO to betting shops and slots venues.
Well done to all those who made it happen including @DawnButlerBrent @Brent_Council @Jackie_olden1
Now let’s go further.

A democratically elected British Prime Minister has been driven from office by a relentless campaign of propaganda and misinformation; funded, amplified and perpetuated by foreign billionaires and elites whose interests bear zero resemblance to those of ordinary working people.
A noble gesture from an emotional Keir Starmer, entirely consistent with his conduct in office.
A truly sad day for British democracy.

Reading’s first fleet of 24 high-spec battery electric buses started carrying passengers in early February.
The new double-deckers offer a smoother and quieter ride on the busy 24/7 Reading Buses purple 17 and claret 21 routes. They also have heating and air conditioning using heat pumps, comfy high back seats, two multi-use wheelchair and buggy bays, free WiFi and wireless phone charging.
The Council worked with Reading Buses to secure £4.7m government funding to help buy the new fleet and install charging stations at the bus depot. Another eight electric buses are due to start operating on the yellow 26 route in the summer following a further £1.3m of funding from the Department for Transport.
Reading Buses already has one of the most eco-friendly fleets in the country and these additional electric buses will support the Council’s aims of reducing carbon emission and improving air quality in the town.
We attended the electric buses launch event at Great Knollys Street in early February.

Politics goes through phases. This phase is of stark choices: here a choice between a Tommy Robinson-backed Reform candidate who thinks people born here aren't British, and a Labour candidate bringing communities together.
