A medical official in Gaza has warned of a worsening shortage of burial shrouds as ongoing Israeli attacks and the siege continue to drive up the death toll while depleting medical supplies.
The director of the morgue at Nasser Medical Complex said the facility had previously relied on donor funding to purchase shrouds from the private sector, but they have become increasingly difficult to obtain due to dwindling resources and restrictions on the entry of humanitarian and medical aid into the Gaza Strip.
He added that fabric for preparing shrouds remains available only in limited quantities inside the besieged enclave.
