I think losing your mind and murdering innocent people is bad, personally.
But hey, we're all different.

Everyone's finally realizing that the Jedi were evil in 2026 but I figured it out in 2005 when I watched ROTS and walked out thinking Anakin was right
Anakin 'turned evil' because he:
-loved his mom
-loved his wife
-was stronger than the whole Council
-noticed the system was corrupt and broken
The Jedi knew he was the Chosen One and still wouldn't make him a Master, because he was better than them
The Jedi: 'We can't punish the Sand People, Anakin. With midichlorian counts that low, they didn't know what they were doing.'
Anakin: 'Then I'll take care of it myself.'
And the Empire? It ended the war, kept order, and ran on merit instead of a Council that took 1,000 years to do nothing
He did nothing wrong
He just did what the Council was too weak to do
Order 66 wasn't a betrayal. It was a performance review
Long live the Empire
The point of conflict between Corbyn and Laura Kuenssberg was her asking him a leading question about the terrorist attack on Paris in 2015, and then misrepresenting his answer - implying that he opposed police use of lethal force in any circumstance.
I don't think the response to all of that was especially intelligent, and it doesn't alter the fact that Corbyn was (and still is) quite gallingly inept at media communications. But I'm pretty sure that is all it was really about.
I'm sure somebody suggested that Corbyn's answer about STK was derived from the Troubles, but what he had in mind was the police shooting Jean Charles De Menezes - which none of the vitriolic reactions to him acknowledged.

Britain's Parliament and Monarchy were directly involved in regulating and profiteering from the slave trade.
You don't need to look far for the information on this:

Who do we think ran the Royal African Company?
xitter.gq/DanielJHannan/status/2…
Replying to @MichaelRosenYes
The British state did not enslave anyone. Unlike many African kingdoms.
And, yes, I have read a great deal of the economic history of the period. If you want to learn why the idea that slavery funded industrialisation is false, come and listen to Doug Stokes at the IEA today.
Britain didn't abolish slavery, it put an end to some aspects of the slave trade in 1807, then banned British people from owning slaves in 1833.
It did not end slavery in Africa, which continues in the present day - e.g. in DR Congo.

Leaving aside the fact that human beings are at the centre of this, all it means is that there will be fewer care-workers for British people who are elderly/disabled, when the care industry is already overstretched.

With clowns to the left of us and jokers to the right, @ShabanaMahmood ‘s reforms look to be pitch perfect. In the national interest without being blinded by dogma. Strong borders and a strong economy.
Shocking. Absolutely shocking. Never thought I would live to see the day when somebody involved with the Labour Party had a conscience and some principles.
Worrying times for us all.

A claim which would later be laughed out of court, leaving Lewis, Blumenthal, along with Heidi Bachram and the Campaign Against Antisemitism discredited - not that anybody cared:

There isn't an equivalence between the trans-Atlantic slave trade and Britain's rule over Ireland, and it's false to claim that the death-rate of Irish people on ships was worse than it was for Black slaves.
xitter.gq/begoniatulip/status/21…
Replying to @nelsabbey
Hey Nels - do you know what the British did in Ireland for 500 years.
The British burned my great grand parents house down in Ireland and they had 4 small children. The death rate of Irish on ships to America was 3 times greater than black slave ships. We just get on with it. 🙄
The sex industry is rife with exploitation and abusive behaviour, but if people really wanted to stop that they would support better working rights and protections, not censorious legislation guaranteed to make life worse for people.
What does that have to do with the military occupation and settlement of the West Bank? Or the blockade and genocide of Gaza? All of which Britain's governments have facilitated.
