Together with my co-author Peter Ho, we are stoked to announce that we are adding a Taiwanese title to @HarpiaP's established series of air power books. The publication will be available from the end of the month at the usual outlets. For a sample: harpia-publishing.com/gal...…

Largely agree w/this but the damage is done - the trust has already gone up in smoke. It will take a very long time for the US to come back from this. As the article says - they’ve throttled a paid for service at a time of war - next time maybe it’s an F35 enabler they turn off

Reminds me of the Guang Da Xing No. 28 incident in May 2013, in which a Taiwanese fisherman was killed by Philippine Coast Guard personnel, sparking a diplomatic crisis that saw ROC military posturing aggressively, including deploying ROCAF fighters and ROCN warships in the area
Ocean Affairs Council Minister Kuan Bi-ling said on Oct. 20 that the donation agreement for the retired CGA patrol vessel Kinmen bars the Philippines from using it to enforce laws against Taiwanese fishers. The 500-ton vessel, transferred through the Philippine nonprofit We Protect Our Seas, entered Philippine Coast Guard service as BRP Sarangani on Oct. 2. Premier Cho Jung-tai said Manila had promised to limit the vessel's operating areas and enforcement targets so that its duties would not involve waters or fishers connected with Taiwan.

My latest piece fresh out of the CNA oven, in which I dissect the operational and strategic rationale behind Singapore’s deployment of white hulls within a predominantly grey hull navy fleet. Your honest critique is most welcome. 🙏🏼👇🏼 channelnewsasia.com/commenta…

South Korea revealed for the first time the pre-launch stage image of the Hyunmoo-V 18x18 TEL. The missile's total weight is 36 tons, similar to the U.S. Minuteman-III ICBM, with a special warhead weighing 9 tons. This world's most bizarre and super-large missile is currently in operation by the ROK Strategic Command and the Army Strategic Missile Command. Military authorities have stated that the next-gen Hyunmoo, the so-called Hyunmoo-6 and Hyunmoo-7, are being prepared. It is presumed that these will also not be disclosed hastily, but will be released slowly at an appropriate time. They are still only partially disclosing the latest models of types 2, 3, and 4. Meanwhile, they recently unveiled the launch moment of the scramjet-based hypersonic cruise vehicle, Hycore, and reports indicate that it is already rapidly developing further advanced variants. They are good at intentionally concealing charming systems. And I rate that highly.

It’s been 25yrs since Taiwan last received new fighters, with final deliveries of F-16A/B Block20s completed in 2001. The milestone also comes 20yrs after it first requested to purchase F-16C/Ds in 2006 during the Monterey Talks, a request that was unfulfilled till the 2019 order
Additional F-16C/D Block 70s will arrive in Taiwan this year, Minister of National Defense Wellington Koo says. The first two F-16C Block 70s landed at Chihhang Air Base, eastern Taiwan, just before noon on 10/2. (CNA)

F-15E CSO with dual mounted iPads in the back. The larger iPad should be a dedicated tactical display (already a thing on the EX). It draws power from the jet and interfaces over Link 16, which lets them push out C2/SA capabilites without going through the core flight software.
