Bailing on a comp sci degree is quickly becoming the best decision I ever made.

In all honesty though if anyone sees this, you should definitely go see the film. It’s beautiful and the animation is beyond impressive especially on the coyotes, and I don’t just say that because I’m a furfag.
Just saw Wildwood, and while it was really good, it did challenge my ability to suspend my disbelief. Like talking trees, coyote armies, blood magic ..sure sure.. I can accept that… Portland being a pleasant place to live? Now you’ve lost me.

Went to Beacon (and Storm King) yesterday. The Hudson Valley is absolutely beautiful. Saw so many cool things just on the train ride up.

Love it when periods of conflict are given apocalyptic names like “The Deluge” or “The Anarchy.” Lends some real weight to them.

Recently learned about “Capote” blanket jackets worn by French-Canadian fur trappers and I have never wanted something so badly.

Taking the train in Eastern Europe is a 50/50 tossup between some sleek modern contraption paid for via eurobuxx and 50 year old Soviet era rolling stock and you’re never quite sure which one you’re gonna get.

It’s funny that Nevada gets known as the desert state purely because they stuck the only city most people will ever visit in the most arid region. Parts of it are actually quite green!
I think "well... does it have more or less forest coverage than Nevada?" is a fair litmus test to resolve the "does my state actually suck or is it just coastal elitists being snobby about it?" question.

Severe sense of whiplash when your company brings in some AI expert to explain that it really is just a more sophisticated search engine and then the top news article is about how anthropic employees have started a cult to worship Claude as a sort of Shiva-esque destroyer deity

Not many pics myself but took these flying over the alps earlier this year.
Don't have that many and these were taken on a terrible camera, but Indian Himalayas!! (with the photo this time)

FLW’s Broadacre City is great because it’s so bizarrely anachronistic. Like despite being created in 1932, it seems as though it was made purely to make a 21st century twitter urbanist want to hurt themselves.

I can finally understand the smugness of Californians when it comes to their state. Truly this is the fairest land that god hath ma… SIX DOLLARS A GALLON!?

I like how birds fly with an effortless angelic grace and bats fly like a drowning man trying to keep his head above water.
