Legislature is going to nerf question #1 on constitutional grounds since the supervisor of records is under the executive branch. We need an independent agency with teeth to enforce public records law.
Apparently, Catherine Vitale has not been getting enough attention, so it was time to play the hits.
First, she ambushed someone with a title. In this instance, it was, of course, Chair Carnevale because calling the @massgop’s leadership into question has been trending. Of course, this “haphazard” encounter was captured on her telephone, which she herself may or may not have bought. Vitale then uploaded it with some comments to foster populist support and feed into the bogus narrative of the villainous country club Republicans, who work assiduously to keep the man down.
If Vitale is a Republican, it has only been the case for the last fifteen minutes. And to be clear, she is not merely looking for respect. She expects to be met with giddy applause for banging on pots & pans in front of Mayor Wu’s residence and trying to pick fights with public figures and the police. She demands deference that committed Republicans that have actually delivered do not even receive. So, she and Robert Burke, who runs every two years for no particularly good reason, can take a hike. And back off Amy Carnevale.

The @massgop sent out an email over the summer asking people to apply to get tickets to the midterm RNC this September in Dallas. @RBurke4Congress and I put in applications and reached out to some state committee members periodically to follow up. We heard nothing back from the GOP after submitting our applications.
We ultimately found another way to get tickets and stayed in a cheaper hotel downtown. When I stopped by the nicer hotel where the important people were staying to pick up our convention passes, I ran into @CarnevaleMHD, chair of the MassGOP.
She claimed she “didn’t know” why Rob & I were snubbed and had zero explanation for why they wouldn’t want one of our congressional candidates to attend the convention with their group.
#Massachusetts is a one-party state & the MassGOP is in on it. Their sole purpose is to keep democrats in office. They refuse to ever support real grassroots candidates and they want nothing to do with republicans/conservatives who are not in their social circles….and we wonder why republicans don’t win in MA?

I do not like Mike Minogue. That much is crystal clear, but this is a very sad day for the @massgop. Heartbreaking actually.
The state party needs to undergo a major purge, and the culture needs to be turned on its head.

Mike Minogue will not get all of the Republican vote. Notwithstanding that, he would have whoever will listen believe that people across the Commonwealth are coming together to form this massive, popular movement to foster positive change and renewed prosperity.

.@Tweetorelli, are you really surprised? I told you that one of Minogue’s supporters wrote that I had “mad skillz”. She also stated that I was “an outlier” because I have an Ivy League education. Another one of his supporters wrote that I am probably “stealing EBT funds”. In addition, according to a friend, Minogue himself spoke with everyone at an event except him - He was the one person of color in the room. My friend told me that Minogue actually went out of his way *not* to talk to him.

What is absolutely hilarious is that the @massgop was quite dismissive of all of Dorchester until very recently. Their perception of this neighborhood largely changed only when Charlie Baker and Marty Walsh became friendly. Still, people should remember that many Republicans, including Jennifer Nassour, initially had no use for Walsh because of his union ties. 😡
