Saturday’s race @FlemingtonVRC has much more value than the $2m in prize-money for the Colts engaged.
This stallion making race attracts the attention of the biggest commercial stud farms that has produced the likes of Zoustar, Northern Meteor & Home Affairs in the last 20 years.
Below is a valuation guide for all colts who have won this race in the past two decades based on:
1st year stud fee x 400 (4 year multiple to achieve 100 live foals per season)
Note: most of these colts would have traded between 3-5 year multiples depending on their profile at the time including things like pedigree, other feature races won, type etc

Ahhh, Derby Day last year! What incredible memories! 🇦🇺❤️
Sadly, I won't be returning to Melbourne for the Spring Carnival this year. Unfortunately, we couldn't make things work commercially this time around.
What we created together last Spring was something genuinely special, and I'll never forget the extraordinary warmth, kindness and support I received from the Australian racing public.
I would've loved to have been back amongst you all, but that's life sometimes!
