🚨 Sir Jim Ratcliffe could have a clear path to take majority control of Man Utd from the Glazers in the second half of 2029.
A refinancing agreement creates a window from June 2029 to repay United’s loans without penalty, potentially allowing the remaining Glazer debt to be cleared and transferred onto INEOS’ books if Ratcliffe increases his 28.94% stake.
This could free up United’s balance sheet and unlock greater borrowing capacity for a new £2–3bn stadium.
However, it remains dependent on the Glazers being willing to sell and INEOS, which already has over £10bn in net debt, being able to take on further borrowing.
