every time you start a new claude code session you spend the first 10 minutes re-explaining your project
"here's the stack. here's what we're building. here's what was decided last week. here's the file structure. DON'T TOUCH THIS PART WE JUST REBUILT IT"
but it's not just your own context. your teammates shipped 3 new things since yesterday, two architectural decisions changed and a dependency got swapped out. you need to capture all of that too, or claude is building from a stale snapshot
you won't remember everything. so claude compiles context from scratch, misses things, and pulls in a direction that might completely miss the point. now multiply that by every dev on your team, every session, all day
literal coordinated drift
what we do instead:
the .hamster folder syncs decisions, plans, and context to the filesystem automatically. claude reads it and just knows. no re-explaining. no stale snapshots.
everyone's always got a fresh .hamster folder which updates in real-time as the rest of the team (or you) ship decisions, tasks, briefs, methods, skills, etc
try it. you'll love it โ @usehamster

everyone on your team maintaining their own CLAUDE.md is a symptom, not a solution.
the root cause is that shared context has nowhere to live and evolve as your team makes decisions.
you can't fix it with naming conventions or a better folder structure.
decisions need a home. not a static file someone remembers to update. a workspace that accumulates as the team works.
when a decision changes, it changes once, and every agent on the team pulls from that. there's no need to keep the markdown files up to date or copy-paste anything anywhere. claude just knows.
your PRDs, your tasks, your skill files, your CLAUDE.md are all projections of the same underlying decisions. if the decisions live somewhere real, everything else stays aligned.
if they stay up to date automatically, the rate of progress can explode because the synchronization overhead disappears.
that's what we've been building into hamster. decisions get a home. blueprint holds your product's current state. methods encode how agents should work. the projections stay aligned because the source of truth is real.
dm if you want to try it
GA reeealllly soon!

How to generate contextual follow-up questions in 2 steps with AI SDK Tools Agents:
1. Enable `generateSuggestions` in the Agent
2. In component, use useDataPart("suggestions")

ok, so...
EARLY THOUGHTS: TASK MASTER (MCP)
main thing: i get what this wants to be. and that vision is fucking beautiful. in practice, it feels like my NEXTSTEPS_.md + "Keep NEXTSTEPS updated" rule with.... extra steps.
i'm just used to mainlining cursor agent's raw power...

OK, loving @TaskmasterAi so far.
Was a little hard to setup, but once I got it going, I'm liking it.
Really supercharges planning and execution of PRDs inside @cursor_ai with Gemini 2.5 Pro MAX

taskmaster MCP server is ready to go.
going to tighten up the @cursor_ai rules so the agent knows to prioritize the mcp server calls over trying to use the script.
you should know: having agent trigger commands and use MCP tools count as "tool calls" which can be limited or billed based on usage depending on the client you use.
the most economical way to use taskmaster remains the CLI, which is why despite launching the MCP server in the coming release (tomorrow!), support for the CLI will continue and expand until it no longer makes sense to do that.
excited to get this release in your hands tomorrow, and move on to a huge amount of amazing features I can't wait to build
i've never been so excited to write code in my life

Big kudos to @EyalToledano and @RalphEcom for their amazing work on the spectacular @TaskmasterAi project!!
This is the ๐ฅ you need to turn out sophisticated projects. Thanks guys for this awesome tool which improves the productivity of developers!
Things are getting better by the day.. donโt sleep on this devs! Check it out and give it a โญ๏ธ at github.com/eyaltoledano/clauโฆ
I ran a little experiment yesterday to compare the difference between one-shot prompting and task-based prompting
I needed to refactor the first version of the @TaskmasterAi MCP because the tools were returning the whole CLI output instead of just the raw data (which would waste usersโ tokens)
It was a really meaty refactor because it affected several files that are like 1,000 to 3,000 lines long which themselves also need refactoring later
So I tried 3 approaches to see the difference between:
(1) One shot the refactor with Claude 3.7 Max
(2) One shot the refactor with Gemini 2.5 Pro
(3) Help Agent multi shot the refactor, one sub task at a time and in sequence using Taskmaster
Here are my results:
1) First, I used Claude Sonnet 3.7 in Max mode with Thinking enabled.
It understood the assignment, but when it attempted to diff in changes, it would also try deleting 500-1,000 lines of code at the same time ๐คก
I tried in Ask and Agent mode. It would choke every. single. time.
2) Gemini 2.5 Pro was throttled on Agent mode so I tried in Ask mode
This went a little better, except I needed to make changes in core logic, and then apply that change across 20 core function files.
It was able to get 3-4 done but by the 5th one it was trying to rename functions and trying to create new core logic that already existed in the app (despite being given those files).
Because the context is so much larger, so too were its proposed code changes. Like with Claude, Cursor kept choking when attempting to apply the changes. It was just too much for it to handle at once.
3) Finally, I used my actual current workflow and updated my refactoring task with more details, research and subtasks using Taskmaster
The parent task clearly explains how the implementation must go at a low level. What files to touch. What functions to rewrite and import. What rules to follow.
And the sub-tasks were the actual individual functions I needed to refactor. Cursor would follow the exact same process for each of the 20 functions using the parent task as the vector and the subtask as the thrust.
Thisโฆ worked flawlessly. ๐คฏ
Instead of trying to get 100% of the task done in each prompt, I requested only 1 of 20 tasks (5%) which it flew through.
Since it was on Agent mode and agent has access to Taskmaster, it was able to keep going uninterrupted for about 20 minutes by:
- finding the next task and subtask
- marking it as in progress
- writing a test for the subtask
- performing the changes/refactor
- validating the new code by running and passing the taskโs test
- marking the task as done
- repeat for the other 19 subtasks
I turned on YOLO mode, sent the prompt and went for breakfast with my wife.
When I came back, the refactor was 100% done and tested.
If you want to build ambitious projects with @cursor_ai, stop twisting its arms and brute forcing your way through context limits
Thereโs a better way now
