Really unfortunate news from Rams head coach Sean McVay today, as the team has lost cornerback Jaylen Watson for the remainder of the 2026 season due to a shoulder injury that will require surgery.
McVay confirmed Wednesday that Watson will be placed on season-ending injured reserve after aggravating his shoulder injury during Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
The decision to undergo surgery comes after further evaluation, with the team determining that continuing to play could risk additional damage to his shoulder.
Watson has been a key contributor to the Rams' secondary this season, making his absence a significant loss for the defense.
With Watson sidelined, Josh Wallace and Emmanuel Forbes Jr. are expected to take on increased responsibilities as the Rams prepare for Sunday's matchup against the Washington Commanders.
