Essential resources for learning japanese: 1. Anki; Decks-Kaishi 1.5k, Core 10k (after Kaishi), DoJG deck 2. WaniKani 3. Yomitan 4. Meikipop (Literal godsend, makes textractor obsolete) 5. Immersion (VNs, LNs, manga, 0 sub anime, etc) And that's it, It's not difficult at all.

If you're even slightly serious about moving to japan (which you should be considering how things are going in the US) start learning the language right now. There's endless resources for it, most of which are free. I'm incredibly lazy yet I've been going strong for 9 months now.
