ALRC report to be released today. There is a long history of recommendations sitting on shelves, collecting dust. This is where the rubber hits the road. We need action and recognition of the trauma caused by the system and by the constant inquiries re-describing the same problem

Linda Reynolds is a fucking ghoul. No amount of kindly worded articles in The Australian will convince me otherwise. Of all the paths she could’ve chosen, she picked silencing and harassing survivors. History will remember you for exactly what you are.
Rape has been so systematically decriminalised in Australia as @VeraBaird famously said of the UK, but the system has emboldened an accused rapist whose case ended in mistrial due to juror misconduct and has subsequently been found to be a reasonable prosecution, to sue the state
This is of course only after attempting to sue everyone else within spitting distance, including the alleged victim herself, who exercised her basic legal right to report a crime. Oh and consistent leaks of the victims personal data to the most right wing media org in Aust.
