I mean problems in Europe, mainly seem to be fiscal burdens and cultural incompatibility. You can easily fix both of these by being less generous and having it within more culturally, similar backgrounds

You realize this is a dream job for a sizable chunk of the population. Immured inside a big concrete cylinder & drip fed worm percocet so you can play Space Shipping Tycoon for 5,000 years in a row. There’s guys out there doing that for free right now
Can any dune book reader explain why anyone would choose to become a navigator in Dune? In the world of Dune, navigators are barely human anymore. They spend years immersed in highly concentrated spice gas, causing their bodies to mutate severely until they resemble strange fish-like creatures. So, why would anyone accept such a terrible price?

“2000s lad culture” was not in fact wearing high heeled boots, skinny jeans, jewellery, eyeliner, and hairspray while trying to start a global love revolution based off having skim read Noam Chomsky. Brand was of course specifically supported as an alternative vision of manliness to lad culture by the Sensibles of the day.

The newer generations are unemployable, so I shut down a business yesterday. I have many small businesses I got involved in, one is a Saltwater fish store. It sells fish, corals, aquariums etc. The most profitable part of one of these stores is outside Maintenance. Going to peoples houses, changing the fish tanks water, cleaning glass etc. This is a very simple job, you run a hose in from the truck, suck water out, pump water in (nothing manual), and use a magnetic razor blade to clean the glass. Take a water sample and leave. We had 4 trucks and 6 guys doing this... then 5, 4, 3... each person that quit put more work on the ones left. We tried to hire, it's a very low skill job. Most maintenance guys make $15-18 an hour. We went upto $35 an hour to try and get people. Beyond that we cannot be profitable. The job is easy, you have to have a license (actually hard as hell apparently), and pass a background check (youre in peoples homes, also hard as hell). Pass a drug test. At $35 an hour we got the following. Someone that caused almost 8k of damage when they started pumping in water, went out "for a smoke" and the tank overflowed. At least 5 hires that went through background tests, drug tests etc then didn't show for work the 1st day and never called us again. Someone that intentionally pulled the guard off the water pumping hose, and sucked someones fish into the pump. Someone that scratched the District Attourney of las vegas, Steve Wolfson's tank by deciding to not use the magnetic razor, and "do it by hand"... fo no fucking reason. (4k bill) A wrecked van Someone who stole our water tester (1500 dollar machine). I have no empathy, at least in Las Vegas, for people complaining about no work, no jobs blah blah blah. $6000 a month to put hoses in and out of a tank and look at pretty fish.

Pakistan is a religious apartheid state that constitutionally unpersoned a religious minority group at the demand of a nationwide hate movement and provides legal cover for terror against poor and marginalized people through accusations of blasphemy, a capital crime.
Pakistan, for all its many faults, is not a settler-colonial state keeping millions of indigenous people stateless, under military occupation, & actively committing a genocide against them.

This correct. The culture-based War of “Woke” is over, now begins the era of naked ethnic and gender based resentment politics.
I really don't think we will experience a woke resurgence because right wing political wins were not responsible for woke's decline. It's going to comtinue petering out because the millennial core responsible for it are getting older and more cringe all the time.

House Democrats support, and will deliver, responsible permitting reform. But as Speaker-elect Jeffries said today, and as some of us have said for weeks, we must have a chance to fix the most glaring flaws in BAAJA.

I’ve long argued that free school lunches aren’t a big deal and in fact make quite a lot of sense. You’re paying for a bucket of goods. You aren’t expected to bring your own chair, or buy your own books. You’re compelled to be there by the state. If you go to a conference, they give you a sandwich.
My somewhat warm take (given my ideology) is I don’t have a problem with free school lunches since kids are compelled to be there. I just don’t think we need to raise taxes to do it. The education sector wastes an extraordinary amount of money as educational quality declines.

Buddy you’re riding a skateboard backwards down a hill the man was you
I’ll never forget the day a man tried to kill me while I was livestreaming in Rhode Island. I was coffinboarding along the Blackstone River when I encountered a man who began threatening my life. He told me, “Your ass is canal water,” and “You’re already dead.” He repeatedly demanded that I turn off my camera so he could kill me and throw my body into the canal. I genuinely believed I was going to die that day. I ended up escaping approximately six miles straight to get away from him. Eventually, I made it back to my car, drove out of Rhode Island, and haven’t returned to the state since. What makes this story even more disturbing is that under two months earlier, another man had been found dead in the river at the exact same location where this man threatened to kill me and throw my body. Detectives are still investigating that man’s death, trying to determine exactly what happened to him. I was recently on the Rhode Island Channel 10 news for this. I don’t know whether the two incidents are connected, and I’m not claiming they are. But knowing someone had been found dead in the same place where my life was threatened is something I’ll never forget. I’m incredibly grateful that I managed to escape that day, because there’s a very real possibility I wouldn’t be here telling this story if I hadn’t. I haven’t talked about the situation much since, but saw it is going viral here on X, but that the full clip wasn’t shown. Also, the full livestream is available on my Twitch (wenevergetyounger) or YouTube: youtube.com/@henryposton?si=… This incident happened at the end of a 2.5 hour livestream. Life is a gift, and I’m grateful I got another chance to experience it.

Ok, expert on Late Roman armor here. Not sure what decisions were made with photoshopping my friends here or why, but if we're going to go on the spurious assumption the "historical Arthur" lived in the 5th century, there's a few major issues here. (1/?)

tl;dr: “Epstein hysteria, the Cornell 7, Nolan Wells, etc. probably drove Dem enthusiasm in as big a way as Iran drove GOP unenthusiasm, and it’s an angle where the GOP seems uninterested in competing.”
Any talk of “ICE hype edits losing the election” is a twitter-siloed misread of the media normal people consume and care about. They irritated leftists on here, and that’s about the extent of it. The truth is that the GOP hasn’t adapted to the slopcannon era of shortform political content, not that it’s gone too far. The DNC did adapt, and it won. Right now, 90% of the things Dems and normies believe about “politics” are just not true, in a way that has never been the case before. Epstein eating babies with Trump, etc. Only a few years ago, the “piss tape” and “Russiagate” took intense national media coverage to develop as mass psychoses, and even then only really weathered discreditation among low-info olds. Now, the vast majority of things you hear from “apolitical normies” are some sort of schizophrenic lie derived from a momentary partisan event 6 months ago — something you, reader, forgot about a week after it happened because you mostly consume news on here. The GOP lost among its base because of the war, gas prices, bad PR, take your pick. But if we’re talking about media strategy, it lost swing normies that it won in ‘24 because it has consistently failed to adapt to the meta of Lindsay Clancy-style TikTok parallel-reality construction. Funnily enough, this media environment — the total death of “legacy media” and “trusted experts,” supplanted by a decentralized online hive — is the exact thing many on the Right have wished for for many years. It happened… now what? As of now, nothing: hysteria is a commodity you can buy, but Republicans aren’t investing. They seemed to have missed the part of epistemic collapse where the “validity” of ideas is totally meaningless, replaced only by their ability to gain attention as a directional signal. Trump wins nationally because he is a gravity well for media attention, a unique talent; but the GOP without him as the candidate is totally excluded from the infostream, seemingly by their own choice. Everybody laughed at the DNC buying catamites like Harry Sisson back in 2023, but that’s just part of the game now — botfarming new stock characters into the popular mind in order to run participatory ARG-style media events designed solely to drive turnout. These things don’t happen by accident, they cost money and require learned acumen. Obviously this is only one small part of the electoral environment, but it’s one that very few people seem to be talking about. Epstein hysteria, the Cornell 7, Nolan Wells, etc. probably drove Dem enthusiasm in as big a way as Iran drove GOP unenthusiasm, and it’s an angle where the GOP seems uninterested in competing.
