This beauty in my new garden stumped me and fellow garden nerds for months. Turns out it’s because it’s an uncommon fernleaf peony aka steppe peony —as in it’s native to the Caucasus Mountains of the Great Steppe. This double flower variety is Peony tenuifolia var. plena.

The skull of a crowned athlete with a gold wreath in the shape of a laurel branch still attached to it is perhaps one of the most impressive exhibits in Greece.
The flesh disintegrated after 2,500 years, but the wreath stuck and remained on the skull. Inside the mouth, a silver coin was found as a token to Charon, who in Greek mythology was the ferryman of Hades who carried the souls of the newly deceased to the underworld. (Continued, 1/2)

I always find exorcism movies silly as an occultist. They spend 2/3 of the film trying to figure out the demon's name & it's always one of the major ones from the Lesser KOS. They could've saved all that time and just gone down the list from the very beginning. There's only 72 🤷♂️
One fun fact, the booth next to us, Juliet A Kurth ceramics, had an unexpected customer. That my friends, is the amazing Dee Snider and his wife, Suzette. Incredibly nice folks.
