ALT Join the Durham County Library and Durham Cooperative Extension for the latest Sprouting Connection Gardening Lecture Series - Mutant Plants and Propagation with Master Gardener Sara Smith and Extension Agent Ashley Troth! When: Saturday, June 3, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Where: Main Library, 300 N. Roxboro St. Website: https://bit.ly/DCoMutantPlants This will feature the lecture: Mutant Plants - Good or Bad? "Why would I want a mutated plant?" the audience asks with wrinkled noses and furrowed brows. That's usually how this presentation begins. About halfway through, the mood changes. "Hmmm, mutants" whispers the crowd. Still not sure, but willing to hear more. By the end, the big question is "How can I get one?" Vegetative propagation is a simple, and free way to do so! After a short break, we will convene for a Plant Propagation Workshop to learn how to make stem cuttings. All registrants will receive an email with suggestions of plants and how to collect a few branches to practice on
