I just added 3D low-poly model generation to Retro Diffusion!
Create super high quality low poly models with pixel art textures in minutes. Then animate them however you want with just a prompt!
Check it out on the site and the API/MCP!
You can make whole 3D worlds using Retro Diffusion now!
The Low Poly 3D "Scenes" styles make tiling 3D chunks that you can export with wave function collapse rules and a whole LLM spec for them.
You can keep adding tiles to a scene, and populating it with objects.
Something cool about this-
Because these videos are basically html/js renders, they can be played on-page as code.
This means they take almost no resources, and each video is less than 1mb rendered at any resolution.
Opus does some really neat art, but at the end of the day it still looks rendered, not drawn. That's fine, its a cool style, but if you want pixel art that looks natural, follows a grid, and has limited colors, use Retro Diffusion.
It's literally made for this :)
Opus 5.5 is actually insane for building pixel-art indie games
Stop using Midjourney for game assets, it has zero resolution awareness and instantly ruins your grid
Here is the exact developer pipeline:
→ sketch your initial concept and pull visual references from Pinterest
→ ask Opus to write custom Python scripts that draw pixel-perfect art programmatically
→ clean up the output manually in GNU Image Manipulation or Photoshop
→ supply real-world motion references (like how natural creature movement works) to build a custom animation rig
The real game dev workflow isn't prompt-guessing
It’s a continuous loop:
sketch → Opus code generation → reference correction → manual polish
Precise pixels. Total programmatic control.
I got bored and decided to have my coding harness research and design a cooking recipe for me tailored to the ingredients and cookware I had on hand.
Anyway, best buffalo chicken mac and cheese I've ever had. Got the seasoning proportions just right too.
Cooking is solved.
I've started messing with creating little videos for each chapter, and I gotta say, they are REALLY good.
100% adding this to the site/app.
Revisiting this about a month later, and I think I'm going to add subscriptions as an *option* in addition to regular balance top-ups.
From a customer standpoint, you can get more usage out of it than just credits offer, and business side it makes recurring revenue more stable.
I've had like 12 people asking me to add subscriptions over the past week. The reason I don't have subs is because I genuinely don't like them...
But people keep asking, and it doesn't make sense for me to keep saying no based on a personal preference, so I gamed out some options ->
If I did subs, I could probably offer them with three tiers, all over 2.5x the value of buying balance. They would have some usage limits, more expensive models/styles would cost more usage. Subs would work for the API and MCP too, just with reduced concurrency (so companies aren't abusing them).
Balance would stay, if you use up your usage, gens would go back to costing balance. And, if you want, you could even choose to pay for a monthly subscription from your existing balance.
This is genuinely something I've tried to avoid, and even something I've made part of my marketing, not having subscriptions. But it seems like people really want it.
So my question is: Should I add subscription plans to Retro Diffusion? Is this really something you all would like?
Man, the things people are doing with the low poly 3D model on retro diffusion are so cool.
You just can't do this kind of stuff well with Meshy and the like, they don't have the fidelity for it. You need mapped UVs, proper regular solids, and rigged bones that actually work.
So we're going to start building the Blackwall from Cyberpunk 2077?
I mean that's the solution right?
Makes sense to me to set up a superintelligence fitted with RSI to wall off all the bad actors 24/7.
Remember when powerwashing simulator blew up and all of a sudden there were bad low effort simulator games everywhere?
This is just a thing people do. AI barely even made a dent in how many clones there are. All it did was ironically make the clones better.
We back (my agents did it in my sleep)

If you use assets in your game (AI or not) - you might find that they still look FLAT.
Here are some tricks you can ask your AI to get things looking nicer.
Retro Diffusion was impacted by the ongoing Railway incident btw. We managed to rotate all keys before any severe losses, but as a result, since deploys aren't back, the site is in maintenance mode.
We just fully migrated to Railway like a few weeks ago too... ouch.

What Higgsfield is doing should be illegal, you should not be allowed to scam normal unaware users like this.
"Genjutsu Lite" is Wan 3.0.
"Genjutsu" is Seedance 2.5.
They rename other companies' models and sell them as their own. Here is every proof, from their own API docs
-> Genjutsu Lite = Wan 3.0
• Pricing: 480p $0.05 / 720p $0.10 / 1080p $0.20 per sec
• Out of 40+ models on their API, only ONE other has this exact pricing: Wan 3.0
• Resolutions: 480p / 720p / 1080p, same as Wan 3.0
• References: Lite takes 1 video + 8 images. Wan 3.0 takes 5 videos + 10 images. Lite is Wan 3.0 with a fixed prompt and settings locked
-> Genjutsu = Seedance 2.5
• Reference images: Genjutsu takes up to 30. Seedance 2.5 takes exactly 30. Wan caps at 10
• Video length: Genjutsu takes 4–30s. Seedance 2.5 is exactly 4–30s
• Price: $0.318 / $0.681 / $1.632 per sec, which is Seedance 2.5 video-edit pricing + ~20–30% markup
-> It's not just Genjutsu
• Cinema Studio 4.0: $0.2057 / $0.4623 per sec
• Seedance 2.5: $0.2056 / $0.4622 per sec
• That's Seedance 2.5 again
• "3.5x cheaper" isn't a breakthrough. They swapped Seedance 2.5 for Wan 3.0, a cheaper model, and called it "Lite"
• Real Wan is listed as alibaba/wan-3.0. The same model is sold as higgsfield/genjutsu-light
• They never tell you what's underneath
I have never seen such a big company being untruthful to their users outright like this.

I just made Retro del Sol - a beautiful, low-poly pixel art world.
Powered by Retro Diffusion for the art assets
(yes, it does 3D & is amazing!)
Highlights:
→ Fully persistent MULTIPLAYER world
→ Day-night cycles
→ Vehicles
→ Character customisation
You can deliver parcels to earn money or simply travel around the different islands.
Play it: retrodelsol.com
Works right in your browser and on mobile.
Its funny, one of the things about having built almost everything AI pixel art needs before anyone else even came into the space is that I just completely forget to advertise things that seem like a given.
Like obviously it does exact sizes, thats a basic requirement.
Three other AI generator tools are hyping their ability to get exact requested pixel sizes...
Retro Diffusion has had this feature for 4 years, because it's made for pixel art.
12px -> 256px, any size or aspect ratio in between.
Use Retro Diffusion :)

Do you ever wish there was a dedicated place to send your complaints about the world? I made a music video where people from 1403 to 2153 sing their life problems.
Thanks to @RealAstropulse for the AI-friendly pixel art generator. @HopeExistential, maybe this is your thing? 🧵
