I know you have to show a villain in their full, villainous avatar so everyone realizes how powerful the hero is who could beat him But the point is that there should be a borderline. If you are elevating Ravana above or making him more powerful than Ram, then I am sorry, this isn't the #Ramayana I know.

I’ve been rooting for #Ramayana since day one. I genuinely want this film to go global and take our stories to the world. That said, ill-informed takes like these do little to serve the epic or its legacy. Ravana was a rapist, not some misunderstood anti-hero in need of redemption. The Valmiki Ramayana recounts his sexual assault of Rambha, a celestial woman who was his nephew Nalakubera’s intended wife. His intelligence, scholarship and devotion do not erase his transgressions. We’ve had enough attempts to turn Karna into a hero. We don’t need another exercise in glorifying Ravana.

There are 52 #reviews on #Letterboxd for #Ramayana . Out of these only 3/4 are probably the one who actually watched the movie today. All the 5* and 1* are spam. Stan wars ruined IMDb first, now Letterboxd too. Only #RottenTomatoes still standing.
