Unlike some viruses that usually spread uncontrollably, sometimes to the point of killing the host and therefore themselves, it’s almost as if the Herpes virus wants to live as long as it can.
So when in the host, it’s able to evade the immune system and maintain a latent state in the host.
But when the host’s immune system is weakened, it can reactivate causing sores and shingles, depending on the type of herpesvirus.
You could almost think of it like a warning to the host that it can take advantage and do something bad if they don't get their immune system healthy. (not that it deliberately does that though)
But I find it a really interesting virus…
(Fun fact: Over 50% of the population is infected with at least one type of the Herpes virus)

Manager: You mean you're not coming to work because your clothes haven't dried?
Employee: Yes. I can still do my work. I just don't have office clothes today.
No emergency.
No illness.
Just wet clothes and a perfectly reasonable explanation in her mind.
That's when my manager realised that Gen Z employees are operating on a completely different system.
Back in our days, we would spend an hour inventing a believable excuse just to miss work.
This generation will tell you exactly why they're not coming, without losing a minute of sleep.
And honestly, I don't even know whether to admire their confidence or worry about the future of HR.
Employers and HR professionals, how would you react if a new employee sent you this message on her third day at work? Would you appreciate her honesty or consider it a lack of professionalism?

My company recently hired a Gen Z employee.
Day three.
At exactly 8:45 a.m., she sent her manager a message.
Employee: Good morning. I won't be coming to the office today. I'll be working from home.
Her manager wanted to know if everything was okay.
Manager: Is there a problem? Are you feeling sick?
Employee: No, I'm fine. My laundry hasn't dried, and I don't have anything decent to wear to the office. So I'll be working from home today.
The manager stared at his screen… then he asked:

People don't get that we had no money (the 45 billion) in our coffers. The money was obtained after the government went to the market with sports levy as security to obtain money from investors and that's why it will be repaid at 100 billion because of interests. Hii ni Deni.
