🇺🇸 Trump is planning a helipad on the White House South Lawn, and there's actually a straightforward reason for it.
The new Marine One, the VH-92A Patriot, is significantly more powerful than the decades-old helicopter it's replacing, and its exhaust can burn up the grass, especially in hot and dry conditions.
Officials have known about the problem since at least 2018 and spent years trying to find another fix. A helipad is the conclusion they landed on.
Mar-a-Lago is getting one too, with Palm Beach now weighing whether to let it stay permanently after Trump leaves office.
Between the ballroom, the granite walkway, and the helipad, Trump is running the most aggressive White House renovation since the Truman reconstruction.
