Lahore runner Faizan Ahmed is now just 28km from Skardu after completing another 52km on Day 21 of his 1,100km run.
Faizan covered the distance from Dambudas to Kachura Checkpoint, taking him through some of the toughest terrain of his journey.
The GCU student and Falcon Triathlon Club runner began the challenge from Lahore on Aug 28, aiming to set a national record while promoting a drug-free and healthy lifestyle.
Tomorrow, Faizan will take on the final stretch into Skardu.

It is with great grief that I and my brother Asim Mateen announce that our youngest brother Atif Mateen passed away due to heart failure in Islamabad. He was 55 and leaves behind his wife Sumeera Atif and two sons Ahmad and Ammar. Details of his funeral will be announced later. Amir Mateen.

Pakistan🇵🇰: Journalist Sohrab Barkat has been under detention for 87 days since he was arrested from Islamabad International Airport on 26 November 2025. Authorities have filed “cyber terrorism” and other cases against him under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) for his reporting critical of the State institutions.
Despite being granted bail earlier for three cases filed against him, his bail on the third case, registered on 5 December 2025, was cancelled by a sessions court in Islamabad on 11 February 2026.
Sohrab’s case is emblematic of how the Pakistani justice system is being weaponized to silence journalists and dissidents by prolonging pre-trial detention through multiple trumped-up cases and denial of due process. Additionally, the digital media outlet that Sohrab worked for, Siasat.pk, was forced to close its office in Islamabad on 18 January 2026 due to ongoing pressure from the authorities.
Amnesty International reiterates its calls to Pakistani authorities to drop all cases related to Sohrab’s legitimate journalism work and ensure he has an opportunity to challenge the allegations against him in conformity with international human rights law and standards.
PAKISTAN: Sohrab Barkat, a journalist, was detained by Pakistani authorities last month for alleged criticism of state institutions online. Since then, he has been implicated in three separate cases under Pakistan’s cybercrime law.
Two cases were filed against him in August 2024 and 2025; he was never informed about them. Months later, on 26 November 2025, while trying to travel abroad, he was detained.
After receiving bail in one of the cases, he was arrested in relation to a third case.
