You must not be getting it. The moment that CM broke protocol to gift that bigoted streamer and bring his community to ours you violated everyone’s safety in the DBD creator community and it will never be safe until you take appropriate action. The appropriate action is to let go that employee. No exceptions.
This weekend, a Dead by Daylight team member awarded in-game content and currency to a creator streaming our game. Although it is not unusual to unlock content to give creators discovering DbD a chance to have a sneak peek at available content, this decision was made without receiving appropriate approvals. Furthermore, the team member's subsequent comments and conduct do not align with Dead by Daylight’s core values.
When concerns about this decision became apparent during the stream, we should have responded by looking into these concerns, not dismissing them.
Unfortunately, we’ve now seen the fallout of this decision unfolding in many conversations across the DbD community. We appreciate and stand with our community’s willingness to ensure our shared values are being upheld, at all times, regardless of popularity, and we’re heartbroken at the inflammatory language now being directed towards our community.
At the same time, threatening employees will never be acceptable, and we’re asking everyone to stop engaging with these posts.
We apologize to our community for letting you down. We have already begun reviewing our internal processes to prevent an incident like this from happening again.

some thoughts and speculations about TheBurntPeanut and MandyTalk ~ a thread
first off; her messages alone prove she was aware there would be hate. so you can't plead ignorance - she knew. she also gave gifts to what i assume is a Peanut friend - did she vet that person?

i think its rich to say stop “threatening” employees when a majority of your player base has spent days getting bombarded by slurs, death threats, & much more for just existing. neither should happen, but the statement was lame and unvalued what this caused over the past day
My dads nearing AI psychosis and all my nom does is watch videos involving women and people of color and being misogynistic and racist about it out loud.

If you have fucking Asmongold and Dr Disrespect backing you you've fucked up royally enjoy this new fan base of pedophile supporters and homophobic racists you did it to yourself
While I don't think "threatening employees" / "witch hunting" is rarely ever called for.... She literally ADMITTED it was her and was PROUD to support it. Then when that proud support is met with "Yes! This company grew a spine and is saying fuck you to the woke liberals", that probably will warrant unrest.
Like I said, this isn't just about a hot balance take or a bug... it was endorsing a known problematic streamer with a volatile fanbase. The same fanbase that has been through numerous other communities spewing hate and bigotry in defense of their holy streamer, who evidently doesn't tell them not to or speak down on their actions. This is the community he fosters.
Calling @Mandyta1k and @DeadbyDaylight / @DbDPulse out directly was a good thing. Especially since she OPENLY welcomed the heat and attached her name to it. This isn't witch hunting or bullying, it was her own decision and consequences to face. I guess the skillet got too hot, so now she's probably trying to disassociate herself from it and have the official account claim the DBD community as just bullying a developer.
CAN YOU NOT TAKE THE HEAT 🔥 ?

You know what’s funny?
This wasn’t even a good business decision lmao
You spent 10 years building a progressive community
Who do you think is buying all those feng & sable cosmetics? Your progressive community
The streamer that you guys spent an entire afternoon defending played dbd for 2 hours & is now done with the game.
so now you’re left with no new players or financial gain from his community & your actual community is now aware that you don’t actually stand by the values you claim to have

The worst part of that "We can take the heat" claim is that they didn't for Zoey.
Threads about her, included the one to communicate she passed away, and the Pride activities of that year got muted because the heat was "too much".
This is what personally hurts me a lot here.

The sheer hilarity of this not being posted on their main account but being posted on the account created and managed by the Lead Community Manager...
