Based on what I know about the schedule, I'm actually sad that I can't make it to AAA's annual meeting this year. Would've been nice to meet some of the researchers in the MAG. Next year for sure.
You know, it doesn't really matter if you spend more than a year bracing for a death in the family. The gut punch hits just as hard when it happens.
You can be mad at the actual government AND at Milo for still not putting out the Atlantis video (I say lovingly, I know he's working on it)
Getting him to hold the book up is already incredible enough. Getting that quote out of him is insane work, love to see it.
Talked to @CurtisSliwa today at the bodega he said, “I used to debate who was better Trotsky or Stalin, I’m a Trotsky guy”
As always, solidarity with the workers and students of France.
"Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks. It leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear."
A bas le gouvernement des riches! Pour un gouvernement des travailleurs!
Police-enforced curfews: famous for making people not want to continue protesting the government.
Even back in 2015 I hated Bernie's stance on Palestine and the way he tends to center Israel in any discussion, but it's been an even worse position over the last 3 years. Watching an ongoing genocide and still accepting the bs framing Israel uses to justify it is unacceptable.
My Statement on the Third Anniversary of October 7th
Three years ago today, Hamas murdered some 1,200 people in Israel, the vast majority of them civilians, committed horrific atrocities, and dragged 251 hostages into captivity.
The attack against Israelis on October 7th was a horrific act of terrorism. Hamas murdered Israelis in cold blood at a music festival and in their kibbutzim. The deliberate killing of innocent people is never resistance. It is a crime against humanity. It is a war crime.
Like any country facing a terrorist attack, Israel had the right to defend itself and go after Hamas.
Tragically, the Netanyahu government in Israel did not wage a war against Hamas alone. It waged a genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza. More than 74,000 Palestinians have been killed, most of them women, children and the elderly, and more than 175,000 have been wounded. Gaza's homes, hospitals, schools and water systems have been reduced to rubble.
Instead of continuing to provide military aid to the extremist government of Israel, the United States should be doing everything possible to provide and support humanitarian aid to the desperate people in Gaza and bring peace and justice to the region.
The way to honor every person lost over these three years is to end the bloodshed: No more American weapons for the extremist Israeli government, a real and enforced ceasefire, full access to humanitarian aid, reconstruction by and for Palestinians, and a genuine path to a Palestinian state alongside a secure Israel. On this solemn day, we must come together to demand a lasting peace.
This is why, as Trotsky said, Zionism is a bloody tap. In every form, it's a thoroughly reactionary ideology. Liberal zionism is no different; it's just the coat of lipstick on the pig.
You can't reform the system that led to this. You need to replace it entirely.
I've literally been waiting for this since the OGL 1.1 fiasco (lovingly)! Solidarity forever!
This morning, the D&D team and Magic's Studio X informed our leadership of our intent to unionize. We love the games we make and the work we do, and unionizing is how we protect that work.

I spent more time in Peru this summer than I've spent in Michigan since 2014, and over half my family lives there.
Wildest friend rec Facebook has given me in a while. Yes I've met him, no I don't want to be friends with him.
