Should have added. If i'm whomever is running the Ath Dept, i'd create a round table of fans from various generations and figure out what needs to be done to reel them back in and actually listen. Been a huge disconnect and alienation for far too long.

Good enough has been the NC State Athletics mantra for 40 years. You only get fired if you're sniffing glue at the bottom of the barrel. Hover in the middle, fans keep buying tickets and hoping, and nothing moves. That's NC State shit. And that's on the administration.

Easy for him to hop on a one-sided Zoom and sound like he's blaming the fan base. I think he's blaming the people who let him overstay. They both did. Because "good enough" was fine.

This is the right take. Huge risk but equal upside. You’re NC State, you either put money at the best coach available (Eck) or take the big risk. We’ve played it safe for decades with Ocain, TOB and Dave. Most exciting years have been Chuck which was a risk too.

Lot of discourse around Philip. Would it be a risk. Of course. Reality is many State coaches have shown they can win 8, 9 games or lose 8 or 9. The fundraising potential, maybe be able to get cheap contract, etc You take the risk. The upside potential IMO is off the charts

Dave Doeren’s roster has been really solid through the NIL era. It’s gotten some players picked off, but NC State should be a 10-win team with competent coaching in Raleigh. Good job, patient fan base.
