🚨 John Terry on Xabi Alonso finally handing Estêvão Willian a starting place against Manchester United: 🎙️ Interviewer: “John, Chelsea fans have been questioning why Estêvão hasn’t been starting more games. What do you make of Xabi Alonso’s decision to start him today? John Terry: “I understand the fans. They’ve watched this kid come in, seen the talent, the confidence and the excitement he brings. When you have a player like that, supporters naturally want to see him on the pitch. Today, Xabi has listened to that demand and given him an opportunity.” Interviewer: “Does this feel like a big moment for Estêvão? John Terry: “Absolutely. Manchester United away is not an easy stage. But these are the moments young players dream about. He’s got the shirt, he’s got the opportunity, and now he has to show that he belongs in this team.” Interviewer: “Chelsea supporters seem delighted to finally see his name in the starting eleven. John Terry: “And rightly so. Some fans have been frustrated, asking the same question every week: why isn’t he starting? Now they have what they’ve been asking for. But football is not won on team sheets. Estêvão has to turn that excitement into a performance.” Interviewer: “What would you tell him before kick-off? John Terry: “Don’t play with fear. Don’t spend the game worrying about making a mistake. Take your man on, be brave, create something and enjoy yourself. The fans are behind you. Sometimes one performance is all it takes to change your place in a team.” Interviewer: “So the pressure is now on Estêvão? John Terry: “The opportunity is his. The fans have made their feelings clear, the manager has trusted him, and now it’s over to the boy. Show us what you’ve got.”
