Miami Football is in great position to win the ACC Championship this year. This is great news, because they’ve never done it before and it may be their last chance.
In the "second tier" of college sports' caste system, Miami is positioning itself for a conference move while exploring football independence and fighting against a federal bill. "If we have to go independent," the president says, "I like our chances." bit.ly/3UKPRN3

These excuses fall pretty flat when you recognize he’s using the grind of a schedule he hasn’t even played yet as explanation for why he’s 2-2.
Lane Kiffin continues to make a strong case against the SEC's move to nine conference games. More losses, more beat-up teams and less roster depth in the transfer portal era. His biggest point? SEC teams are being punished in the rankings for playing tougher schedules. Hard to argue with him on this one.

Hearing reports that there’s a carve out here where the CFP could expand again before 2032, but only if it would result in more money.
Some news in here: As part of the expansion agreement with ESPN, the CFP cannot expand beyond 24 teams through the current six-year contract. The earliest any new expansion can happen is 2032, sources says šŸ‘‡

The ACC and Big 12 have willingly participated in doing the same to the G6. Someday, the Ohio States and Alabamas may willingly do this to the Purdues and Mississippi States.
They’re going to use this to lock the ACC and Big 12 out of major nonconference games, and then use ā€œweak nonconferenceā€ as justification to put 18 Big Ten and SEC teams into the 24-team playoff.

His facial expressions in this interview are incredible.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff coach Alonzo Hampton said he was thrown "for a loop" during Monday's SWAC coaches' media call when a reporter suggested the Golden Lions couldn't win the SWAC West even though UAPB is currently just 1/2 game behind the first-place lead with five games left.

You might have thought you were safe from realignment news after dinner time on a random Wednesday in October, but you thought wrong.
Sources: Le Moyne College is on the cusp of joining The Metro Conference in all sports starting in 2027-28. The sides are deep in discussions with The Metro (formerly the MAAC), and a deal is expected to come together in the near future. Le Moyne is leaving the NEC.

Official statement from a Maryland spokesperson on behalf of UMPD and Maryland Athletics regarding a police dispatch's interaction with Testudo Times reporters: "UMPD was contacted today, October 21, 2026, about two individuals who were standing outside of Jones Hill House. Due to heightened concerns for staff and player safety around the football program in recent weeks, there has been increased security around athletics facilities. A UMPD officer approached the two individuals, learned they were with a campus media organization, recorded student IDs, and no report was taken. UMPD and Maryland Athletics respect the First Amendment rights of all journalists reporting in public spaces."
For @testudotimes, @JudeWilkenfeld and I were outside Jones-Hill House trying to get players to comment. An athletics staffer took pictures of us, and a police dispatch was called for suspicious activity; a cop and 2 cop cars pulled up, and officers ID’d us and asked us to leave.

The median salary for an admissions officer at UCLA is $74,076. They can now gamble on the admissions rates they govern. 🤪
Kalshi told federal regulators it's putting up betting markets on the admissions rate at top colleges, including @Princeton, @Stanford, @Penn, @DukeU, @UCLA, @WashU and others. This creates new insider trading risks at all these schools. (h/t @DustinGouker)
