Yesterday was the conclusion of the 2026 Road to Revolution seminar hosted by @Fortligonier58 in partnership with @EmergingRevWar . These seminars are a great way to connect with fellow history buffs and share perspectives on American History. I was happy to be able to attend and look forward to next year.

A fun first day at the Road to Revolution seminar hosted by Fort Ligonier, partnering with Emerging Revolutionary War. Great to retrace some previous roads we’ve been on in previous episodes of Retracing History and speaking with fellow history buffs.

It has been great to hear the feedback on the newest episode of Retracing History. I was a bit nervous to tackle The Siege of Fort Pitt and Pontiac's War, an important subject that is forgotten in most American History books. It was one of several conflicts that waged in the 18th Century west of the Appalachian Mountains between Colonial America and Indigenous America. These conflicts can be very messy to read about, but understanding them help 21st Century Americans better appreciate the causes of the American Revolution as well as the opportunity to discover parallels to our complicated present days and lives. Special thanks to the various living historians and historical education organizations that devote their time to bringing America's Forgotten Past to life. Sometimes I may only be able to get glimpses of them in action, other times I am blessed to be able to collaborate directly. "How Britain Held Pittsburgh Against An Indian Siege" is just the latest in a number of videos Redoubt Productions has created in relation to events like the French & Indian War, Pontiac's War, the American Revolution and more. Begin your journey into the past NOW by watching the playlist linked in the comments below!:

You will not want to miss the next episode of Retracing History. We are diving into the early days of Pittsburgh, in the early 1760s a British fortress with a number of civilian buildings raised just beyond its defenses. Designed to deter France from recapturing this valuable point in North America, Fort Pitt was also a threat to the survival of the Ohio River Indians that called the region home. In the summer of 1763, a Native American Coalition would besiege the fort in a battle now largely forgotten about in American History books. Tune in Saturday to discover the true story!

We return to Point State Park and the Fort Pitt Museum to learn how the British Empire converted the confluence of the Ohio River into a fortress in the early 1760s, and withstood a siege. --- You may watch the full episode of Retracing History early by becoming a member of the Garrison on Ko-Fi: ko-fi.com/redoubtproductions
