I'm very impressed at the forward thinking with these new harm reduction prototypes in pink from @ReducingHarm inspired by @annaddition 'Mother2Mother' #harmreduction Especially as Wales is getting ready to get the go ahead to provide safer inhalation devices. #streetdrugswales

On 26 June we set up a Drug Consumption Room in London, to show how our community can take care of itself. It was AMAZING to see all our friends and interested ppl come out to see it in action. We need these spaces everywhere, properly funded and protected by law! ✊️

I passed the crack pipe training before breakfast ! 100%.. everyone who works with PWUD should complete this training from @ReducingHarm building on the work of the @safe_pipe & supporting the roll out of safe inhalation kits across the UK.

🧵Drug "hierarchy" mindsets only fuel the stigmas people who use drugs face. All people who use drugs—& any kind of drug—deserve resources, stigma-free support, & love. Learn more about how various factors including surrounding environments, resources, & state of mind can change

Expanding access to naloxone is a proven way to distribute life-saving medicine. It's great to hear it will be given to family and friends of those using opioids 👏 Please get some for yourself or friends - opioids are across many drug supplies! gov.uk/government/news/expan…

Thanks to @skynews for picking up our report. Admissions to hospital down for general public but up by 60% for people who are homeless. Need to address mental health and addiction support in the community. And more specialist #inclusionhealth practices in the UK. @PathwayUK

🧵: Let 2024 be the year for reviving deeper solidarity between drug user and sex worker movements. We have lots to gain and share between us: we both know that criminalization hurts our health and everyone’s health
Some extra love for the Harm Reduction Hub from our Drugs Coordinator @SSchlossenberg Sex work and drug user activism is so interlinked - we need a safe space for all of us to organise and mobilise. More submissions on why a hub is needed coming soon 🛸

The first step to solving any safety problem is deciding that the problem is not a matter of decisions but conditions -- not how people decide to behave but the conditions that dictate both peoples' decisions and the outcomes of their choices.
