Excited for the new monthly Morning Coffee Cleanup (Mission) hosted by Cinderella Bakery on last Fridays of the month from 11-12. They’ve sponsored our cleanups at their original location in the Inner Richmond, now bringing cleaner streets to the 24th St Mission neighborhood.

The team from @BlackRock left no stone unturned, meticulously cleaning from their office in SOMA to South Park and back. The trash got heavier as we cleaned towards the park, with an endless stream of cigarette butts, but this group was relentless and undeterred.

Thank you to the Muni Run Club who ran and then collaborated on a cleanup of the northern section of the 49 Van Mess @SFMTA_Muni line from Market to North Point. A dozen volunteers got in their steps and collected 16 bags of trash, much of it from the bus stops themselves.

Starting off a weekend of 35 citywide cleanups on a Friday afternoon on Clement Street. An unusually large haul thanks to Canvas Church who volunteers regularly, including their annual Love Week volunteering. Plus our regulars and several new volunteers, we got streets spotless.

Perfect weather today in San Francisco for more pocket gardening. We’re testing out this prototype app developed by SF Civic Tech to help us manage and maintain these planted empty public plots. It will help alerting volunteers when maintenance is needed to ensure they live on.

Fantastic turnout for the monthly Rise & Grind Cleanup in the Inner Richmond, thanks to a group of nursing students from @usfca and this gorgeous weather. What better way to spend time outdoors than enjoying the beauty of San Francisco neighborhoods and keeping them clean!

Back to back cleanups with middle schoolers today. Students from New School (featured in Mrs. Doubtfire) travelled from North Beach to help clean the area around Trader Joe’s on Masonic Ave. Another 6th grade cohort from Millennium School cleaned Jefferson Square Park again.

The Mission, TL, SOMA, and Bayview are some of the dirtiest neighborhoods. Will need city resources to fully change, but we can still help & show up for our neighbors. Calling all San Franciscans citywide to join volunteer cleanups in these neighborhood: refuserefusesf.org/cleanups

Kicking off the weekend of cleanups with the Cooper team, who are ensuring the Embarcadero is spotless for Fleet Week. Very detailed, nabbing litter from nooks & crannies. A 30-pack of cleanups this weekend in San Francisco. Come be part of the community getting our city clean!

Spent the afternoon with 7th graders at Roosevelt Middle School who got the SF Trash, then put the learnings into action cleaning the surrounding neighborhood in the Richmond. They were shocked with the amount of cigarette butt pollution and vowed to never pick up the habit.

Big ups to the female student athletes that came from all over NorCal to compete in a volleyball tournament hosted by Sacred Heart, which pairs the event with volunteering. Thousands of pieces of litter removed from Jefferson Square Park and Playground, making it clean for all.

An impactful One Richmond Cleanup along Clement, Geary, California, and the Avenues thanks to regular volunteers and new & returning student volunteers from @usfca. 10 bags of trash collected then hauled away by @sfpublicworks who were also out keeping the city clean. #teamwork

Usually you need evidence when you throw around accusations, but no one holds you accountable. TogetherSF doesn’t even exist anymore and yet here we still are cleaning the city and having to clean up this trash online. The streets are cleaner yet some things never change.

Love to see cleanup collabs - this morning at Ocean Beach, @instawork and @UCSFHospitals Anesthesia joined forces to pick up litter along the shoreline. Many hands make light work. The feedback was they had a great time chatting with colleagues and seeing the beach so clean.
