small claude code tip for solo builders: hooks run outside the model. a PreToolUse hook can block rm -rf, force pushes or prod deploys before the agent even tries. rules in a prompt get forgotten in long sessions. a hook doesn't forget.

free design tool worth a look if you build solo: Penpot open source, runs in the browser, self-hostable. built on open standards like SVG and CSS, so handing a screen to a coding agent is less translation work. there are MCP servers for it too. penpot.app

One line I'd put in every coding agent's rules: "never say it works unless you ran it. list what you checked and what you didn't." Saves you from the confident "done ✅" that falls apart the second you click around.
