EFCC uncovers illegal oil refinery operated by Chinese nationals in Ogun State The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has uncovered an illegal oil refinery allegedly operated by Chinese nationals in Ogere, Ogun State. The facility was raided on Saturday, October 31, but operatives reportedly found it deserted upon arrival. Underground storage tanks containing substances suspected to be diesel were discovered within the premises. Preliminary investigations indicated that sludge oil was transported from Warri, Delta State, and Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to the facility for processing. The EFCC has since taken over the premises as investigations continue to establish the identities of those behind the operation and track down the owners of the illegal refinery.
