Yesterday, I went for a refund on the Halloween retexture. I gave the artist plenty of time to give me an update. I commissioned this one because I wanted to give another artist a chance to do some retextures. It wasn't about the cost. I don't really care about that. $50 is $50, don't get me wrong. I would have paid more, but those were their prices, and there was no communication from them to even talk about the price going up. Their commission said the turnaround time was 2 weeks to 1 month. I put this in on Aug. 19th. I set a deadline of Oct. 1st. That is well over a month. The retexture did not show up by the deadline. I messaged. No answer. Days later, another message. No answer. Messaged again a few days later. No answer. I told them I would be going for a refund if there was no word or the delivery wasn't made by Oct. 19th. No answer. No update. No retexture. This is why people are losing faith in artists. This is why people are not willing to risk hiring different artists. I now have another commission on the waitlist for the artist who did my two outfits before. I will not be using any other artist for retextures but them. Otherwise, I'll be pulling out the old drawing tablet and going at it myself. This doesn't mean I won't be trying out new artists for other things. But for my model, I'll trust the one who kept me updated, asked for my thoughts, and communicated with me.
