After years of hard and smart work by Tommy Clausner together with @Jose_P_Marques and Mathilde Bonnefond our work on how neural oscillations measured with EEG relate to feature specifc laminar fMRI is finally ready to be shared with the public. biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

Contrary to beta oscillations, alpha power correlates negatively with coupling strength between deep and superficial layers within a brain region. No strong relation was observed between regions, although the trend is also in the direction of decreased connectivity. (4/5)

Although we previously found gamma oscillations relate to laminar specific BOLD activation, we observed no relation of gamma power with changes in laminar fMRI coupling within and between brain regions. (5/5)

Why just disagree when you can be offended? If you merely disagree with something, you might have to provide evidence.

Moral psychology principle #3: Morality binds and blinds
Watching former Republican senators who were hyper-moralists during the Clinton presidency defend Donald Trump on CNN every chance they can highlights how morality was, for them, simply a weapon to be used against Democrats/Clinton but not Republicans/Trump. Tribalism corrupts.

While most concerns about the US becoming like Putin's Russia focused on an authoritarian president, I'm starting to worry about an enfeebled Congress with extremist wings like Russia's: Nationalists and Communists!

The fact that this map likely got every state right, except Florida is... highly suggestive that the polling problem of 2016 was not solved.
