The Office of Congresswoman Omar released the following statement:
“This raid by Trump’s DHS is an outrageous abuse of power and an unprecedented escalation in the weaponization of federal law enforcement to target political enemies. For a decade, Donald Trump has relentlessly targeted Congresswoman Ilhan Omar with inflammatory rhetoric, repeatedly putting a target on her back. Now, those attacks have escalated to a pointless federal raid. The Congresswoman has done nothing wrong. No president should be able to use the power of the federal government to intimidate his political enemies.”
Trump and Republicans in Congress have thrown out basic human decency, taken their Deportation Machine way too far, and have abused their power yet again.
This is a blatant disregard for the basic rule of law and a calculated outcome of their radical weaponization of the DOJ and DHS against political opponents.
Every harmful Republican policy has a human cost, and there are real families who are left to pay it. My heart goes out to @Ilhan and her family who deserve far better than this sinister political obsession.

Ranking Member @RepGregoryMeeks met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly High Level Week.
They discussed Ukraine's urgent air defense needs amid continued Russian strikes, and efforts to advance a U.S.-Ukraine drone deal and other co-production opportunities that would deepen defense-industrial ties between the two countries.
